Merging with the Medicine Wheel - Shamanic Yoga and Cacao Ceremony

Sunday, July 3, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (PDT)

The Center SF
548 Fillmore St.,
San Francisco, CA 94117

Explore the fusion of the ancient internal practices of Yoga and Shamanism! Yoga (union with the Divine) and Shamanism (interaction with the spirit world) both are practices traditionally designed to lead us to the direct flow of wisdom. We begin the class with a cup of Sacred Cacao to connect us to Spirit and to help expand our Heart Chakra. We then use the ancient teachings of the Medicine Wheel to provide an anchor for this intense and transformational practice. Our experience will be deepened by the constant thread of Sacred Sounds and Icaros (Shamanic songs) performed live by Priscilla, or Kula Kurandera on Sound Cloud.

Energetically guided by the cycles and winds of the four directions, we will embody the spirits of the Serpent, Jaguar, Hummingbird and Eagle. As we become each of these spirit animals, we will learn valuable lessons that will allow us to reveal our passions, to shift perceptions and to dream our world into being. You will leave the practice feeling spiritually cleansed, emotionally empowered and expansive.... ready to live life--the life that wants to live in you! Now is the time to reveal yourself to yourself. As the Hopi Elders stated: “We are the ones that we’ve been waiting for.”

A cacao ceremony is an experience in multidimensional group energy. Cacao works with you where you are, and with the ceremonial facilitator through where they are.  Cacao brings the door, but doesn’t push you through it.

A major advantage of ceremonial cacao is that it makes it much easier to deeply access one’s emotional body, pain body, or density on the dark shadow side. Cacao allows you to go considerably deeper into meditation and self-healing than possible without the medicine. It also helps you gain understandings that lead toward more permanent changes.  Cacao is a heart-centered anchor that takes you where you're going with more love and less fear.

Cost: $35 - $40

35th Annual Fountain Blues Festival

Saturday, June 25, 2016 @ 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park
170 S Market St,
San Jose, CA 95112

A variety of non-stop live music steeped in blues, soul, gospel and zydeco from around the globe will perform in downtown San Jose's central park - Plaza de Cesar Chavez for the 35th Annual Fountain Blues Festival.

Confirmed headliner is THE CALIFORNIA HONEYDROPS www.cahoneydrops.com

Led by dynamic vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Lech Wierzynski, and drawing on diverse musical influences from Bay Area R&B, funk, Southern soul, Delta blues, and New Orleans second-line, the Honeydrops bring vibrant energy and infectious dance-party vibes to their shows. They’ve taken the party all over the world: on 9 European tours, featured slots at such premiere festivals as Monterey Jazz, High Sierra, and Outside Lands, and recent performances supporting B.B. King, Dr. John, Buddy Guy, and Allen Toussaint. Whether in those high-profile performances or in more intimate venues where the band itself can leave the stage and get down on the dance floor, the California Honeydrops’ shared vision and purpose remain: to make the audience dance and sing.

AND THE REST OF THE LINE UP....

Otis Taylor Band - Part of Taylor's appeal is his contrasting character traits. But it is precisely this element of surprise that makes him one of the most compelling artists to emerge in recent years. In fact, Guitar Player magazine writes, "Otis Taylor is arguably the most relevant blues artist of our time." Whether it's his unique instrumentation (he fancies banjo and cello), or it's the sudden sound of a female vocal, or a seemingly upbeat optimistic song takes a turn for the forlorn, what remains consistent is poignant storytelling based in truth and history.

48 Hr Negativity Detox

June 24 – 26, 2016 (Friday – Sunday)

Woodside, CA

It is our absolute pleasure to welcome you to The Ego’s Code… 48 Hour Negativity Detox, with Clayton John Ainger and Special Guest Diane Hunter

Every day we all experience negativity! It is an unpleasant experience where many people feel overwhelmed, trapped and unable to move forward. It can also causes us to sabotage success, relationships, health, well-being and finances ultimately preventing you from fully experiencing the best of you, the best of your life and living your dreams.

Like you, Clayton has experienced challenges, hardship and negativity, sometimes to the point of incapacitation – from being unhealthy, overweight, enduring a career that made him unhappy, money problems, feeling unloved, unworthy, getting divorced, and being frightened by his spiritual gifts.  Through his own work, Clayton has developed a methodology to help you understand and to reverse the challenges, hardships and negativity you experience. Clayton's life has changes so significantly and dramatically that he wants to share his insights with you so that you can do the same for yourself.
Many of us perceive negativity as wrong, which can create polarity and great suffering.  We ignore it, avoid it, hide from it, or stuff it down. But it does not stay down for long, because spiritually, negativity is not negative. There is a divine spiritual reason for it. It has a meaning and a purpose!

During a meditation at Stonehenge, Clayton received clear and detailed guidance about why we experience negativity and how to be free of it.  Your personal form of negativity leaves clues and patterns for you everywhere. Clayton calls this The Ego's Code. All you have to do is notice your patterns, decipher them and use them to experience more happiness and joy in your life.

Clayton offers profound insights and understanding that will change old beliefs about the Ego and perceptions regarding negativity. He is so excited to share this with you. Join Clayton, and learn the spiritual reasons for your negativity, its purpose and where it comes from. Clayton will explain with solutions, the effect on the physical body, the mind, how it interacts with spirit and impacts on your life.
You are invited to meet your spirit guides, release your negativity, to change your reality, so that you can live your dream life.

Cost: $420 - $670

Summer Spark IGNITE

July 7 – 10, 2016 (Thursday – Sunday)

Santa Cruz, CA

Ignite is a four day and three-night fire circle ceremony, deep in the mountains near Santa Cruz, California, among beautiful redwoods and under the wide open sky. This is your invitation to join us for fun, laughter, magic, transformation and connection. Here you can drum your passion, dance your stories, laugh or cry, speak your truth, walk with your shadow, and sing your heart song.

Our approach is both simple and ancient. We come to together under the stars, surrounded by trees. Together we journey into the night, playing, dancing and singing around a fire for three nights until dawn. The cool night air, the mountains, the dirt under our feet, the sound of the drums, the warmth of the fire, the eyes of our friends, conspire to bring us back into our bodies, fully present, breaking down our resistances, letting us be ourselves more fully. Together we hold this space as sacred, allowing it to be the crucible that brings us into contact with the mysterious, that bubbles spontaneously up from within and without. We open ourselves up to the power of the moment to connect us again with places of deep truth.

This is not a meditation retreat; it is an ecstatic advance! It is an injection of spirit, of energy, of connection to source.

Sex as Meditation: Embracing the Spark of Our Desire

Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (PDT)

2269 Market Street,
San Francisco, CA 94114

What really turns you on and how do you communicate that with a partner? For most of us, sharing what really gets us hot is vulnerable - and therefor inherently scary. Does that keep you from sharing what you really desire with your partner? Do you even know what turns you on? Are you ashamed of your desires? Just like being devoted to our own truth and allowing the love and connection we want into our lives, it is important for us to really know, understand and accept our sexual desires... no matter how scary they might seem. Monsters under the bed seem really huge, until you shine the flashlight of truth upon them. When we can accept and claim our sexuality and our desires, we accept and embrace a core piece of ourselves that is the spark of our passion for life.

We invite you to join us for this 4 hour Sex as Meditation workshop where we will dive into our inner worlds and build healthy relationships with our sexual desires and fantasies. We will bring mindful awareness to what turns us on and excites us and find ways to be able to talk about these desires with our partners. This process will open a more accepting and compassionate relationship with the sexual animal that lives within us all and give us an opportunity to make friends with this powerful part of ourselves and what it has to teach us.

This workshop does not include any nudity or explicit sexuality. All genders and sexual orientations welcome.

Workshop duration: 4 hours

Cost: $135

Hayward Russell City Blues Festival 2016

July 9 - 10, 2016 (Saturday – Sunday)

Hayward City Hall Plaza
777 "B" Street
Hayward, CA

This little town of African-American's who migrated here from the deep south was one of the proving grounds for many blues musicians. Russell City, an unincorporated area of Hayward, California is about 12 minutes from the City of Oakland. This community of modest houses and small farms along the bay is now gone. During it's heyday, Russell City was a down home, known for it's clubs with dirt floors, bootleg electricity and a steady stream of musicians playing a unique style of Delta Blues. During the early part of their careers, artists such as Big Joe Turner and Big Mama Thornton played Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana style blues in Russell City.

West Coast Blues music eventually influenced the traditional sound when horns replaced the harmonica and West Coast Blues was born. Russell City is a landmark on the map of American's contributions to world culture giving Hayward a unique musical legacy reflecting the African-American experience. We are pleased to bring those sounds back through the Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival. The Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival celebrates the rich history, musical and cultural art form found in Russell City and Hayward during the post war years from the 1940's thru the 1960's.

Soul without Shame Workshop

July 22-24, 2016 @ 10am-6pm (Friday – Sunday)

Ridhwan Center
2075 Eunice Street
Berkeley, CA 94709
United States

The judge, superego, or inner critic shapes and limits our daily life. This psychic entity, which praises, accuses, promises, and threatens, is forever looking over our shoulder to see if we measure up. Invading our relationships and undermining our self-esteem, self-judgment is also the primary force interfering with our personal spiritual work.

This workshop will begin to directly address the inner judge using principles of the Diamond Approach. Through embodied awareness (to support presence) and open-ended inquiry (to bring about understanding), we will learn to recognize and confront the assumptions and principles that keep self-judgment in place. We will cultivate aspects of our true nature that antidote self- judgment: compassion, will, and strength. Most important, we will practice disengaging from the judgment process through understanding and deliberate action.

The sessions will include meditation, lecture, discussion, and experiential/movement exercises. The workshop is open to everyone with an interest in and a willingness to confront habitual patterns of self-attack. Bring your courage, compassion, and curiosity.

Cost: $315 - $350
