Tantric Intimacy for Couples- Intro Weekend

April 7 – 8, 2018 (Saturday – Sunday)

Church of Soul
1550 5th Street
Oakland, CA 94607

Does this sound like you?

You're in an awesome, loving relationship but...
·         As your relationship has progressed, has your desire faded? Are you feeling less hot, passionate, and juicy for each other as when you first met?
·         Are you feeling stuck or blocked in the bedroom – perhaps there’s pressure to perform or it feels like you’re speaking two different languages around lovemaking?
·         Are you ready to explore and bring something deeper and more meaningful into your lovemaking?

Imagine being *ecstatic* about your relationship…
·         Feeling intimately connected and deeply met by your partner
·         Reviving the passion and creating the type of epic lovemaking you know is possible
·         Ironing out the kinks so you can spend more time having fun and sharing love!

Honestly, that’s just the beginning. We’ll show you how to bring healing and bliss into your intimate connection, how to be constantly growing together in a way that’s healthy and engaging, and how your relationship can become the crucible for your spiritual transformation.

Here's what to expect:

In this dynamic weekend, you and your partner will have quality time to go deep with one another, learning how to bring more sacred connection into your lovemaking and relationship. You'll get to feel wildly alive in your body and connect with that creative, vibrant flow within yourself, inviting more joy and fun into your lives! From that place of embodied vitality, you'll learn practical tools to excite your passion and desire for each other. You'll open up your heart to be in intimate connection and you'll feel empowered to work through common blocks around lovemaking.

The Ritual Tantra Approach is all about your embodied experience. That means less talk and more DOING. It means less “woo”, and more practical exercises that you can take back into your lives. Our approach is highly somatic, because we believe that when you learn by feeling directly in your body, you gain a deep understanding that leads to lasting transformation. The foundation of our container is a sense of safety and respect within the group, and an openness to feel into whatever is true for you in the moment. This creates space for your authentic expression and a blossoming of your full radiant being.

You will learn
·         The 4 Tantric flavors of desire
·         How to polarize energy with your partner for ever-renewing passion
·         Epic Tantric lovemaking!
·         Essentials of Tantric Ritual for sacred union
·         The 3 keys to feeling and moving sensual energy
·         How to cultivate profound intimacy and soul-level connection
·         Tools for healing old wounds and moving into wholeness

5Rhythms Peninsula: Refuge in Rhythm

Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm

Peninsula Ballet Theatre
1880 S Grant St,
San Mateo, California 94402

The moving body is our home, the dance floor a sanctuary. And through the practice of the 5Rhythms we touch the place of refuge within each of us. Our bodies are a reflection of our spirit and at the moving center of the body resides a place of calm and deep intuitive knowledge. Our dance is an inventory of compassion for others and ourselves. What are we offering, what speaks through us in the world? What do we carry with us?

Through the moving meditation of Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms we explore this in free-form dance. The map of the rhythms: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness guides us through a process of self-reflection. To drop in and breathe freely is a refuge, a step into a different, less structured life.

The winter dark can be a time to take refuge and reflect, or to begin unfolding toward the light and warmth of spring. Together we will take refuge in dance, in community, in body, breath and sweat. Join us!

Kronos Quartet in Stanford

Friday, April 6, 2018 at 7:30 PM - 10 PM

Stanford Live
327 Lasuen Street, Bing Concert Hall,
Stanford, California 94305

How do you pay tribute to San Francisco if you've never been to California? As they set to task on this commission by the San Francisco Film Society, Canadian filmmaker Guy Maddin and his team—codirectors Evan Johnson and Galen Johnson—realized that there would be no better cinematic tribute than a recreation of the Hitchcock classic Vertigo.

More of an homage than a remake, The Green Fog—A San Francisco Fantasia stitches together over 200 snippets of movies and TV filmed in San Francisco—from '50s film noir to Mrs. Doubtfire—to create a parallel-universe version of Hitchcock's thriller. The resulting collage has little dialogue, letting the Jacob Garchik-penned score, performed live by the Kronos Quartet, amplify and intensify the action.

The program will open with a composition by throat singer Tanya Tagaq, whose 2015 piece Sivunittinni was written for the Kronos as part of Fifty for the Future: The Kronos Learning Repertoire, an initiative by the Kronos Quartet to commission new works for string quartet and distribute them online for free.

Starhawk's Passover Equinox Workshop

Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM PDT

Chochmat HaLev
2215 Prince Street,
Berkeley, CA

Deepen your understanding of Miriam’s Well, the Pagan roots of Passover, and Ancient Springtime purification rites, plus Leave with something special to bring in to your seder.

Passover, or Pesach, was the ancient spring festival of the land of Canaan, a time of cleansing and renewal, that became intertwined with the story of the Exodus from Egypt. In this one-day workshop, we take a new look at the old stories. Right now, we need sources of resilience and creativity to help us counter the bondage of a society growing ever more callous, cruel and oppressive.

Miriam — an ancient Hebrew Goddess long before she became a Biblical figure — was said to have a well that followed her wherever she went. We too can find deep sources of strength and regeneration that can replenish our energy and deepen our magic even when we wander in the desert of our current social and environmental breakdowns. Together we will co-create ritual to drink from the well of renewal and restore the promise of justice and compassion.

Cost: $40 - $85

Clockwork Alchemy 2018

March 23 – 25, 2018 (Friday – Sunday)

Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport
1333 Bayshore Hwy,
Burlingame, California

Ah, the Age of Steam! The splendor and science! The opulence and adventure!

For one glorious weekend, the temporal rifts tying the San Francisco Bay Area in California, to a World That Might Have Been and indeed, to alternate worlds beyond, shall be opened for a grand meeting of minds and hearts. Join the adventure of Clockwork Alchemy at the Burlingame Hyatt Regency Hotel March 23–25, 2018.

All are welcome! Come steam explorers and mad scientists! Come naval officers and airship pirates! Come monster hunters and vampires! Even Dieselpunks, Edwardians, Neo-Victorians, Burners, and dandies! Be you a colorful rogue or a refined lord or lady, your destiny calls. Engineers, shovel in more coal; clockmakers, set your alarms; inventors, present your extravagant contraptions!

Some have said the pinnacle of a steampunk convention is its ball. Emperor Norton has made congenial arrangements for this time–traveling ball to feature all of the best dancing from Victorian times, the swing era, and an alternative today. On Saturday evening, Clockwork Alchemy will hold a ball of epic proportions with many hours of music and dancing!

Formal Dance

Saturday's festivities will commence with that most Victorian of institutions the formal dance. Our Master of Ceremonies will instruct the Clockwork Alchemy DJ to play all of your ballroom favorites. We hope you are ready to waltz! (Ballroom dance lessons are available earlier in the day.)

Diego’s Umbrella

Diego's Umbrella is a 5-piece Gypsy Rock band from San Francisco, CA. They combine violin, flamenco guitar and 3-part harmonies with modern rock sensibility and eastern European flavor. They have been performing for 12 years, toured nationally and internationally for 8 of those years and have garnered worldwide acclaim.

Lee Presson and the Nails

Lee Presson and the Nails (LPN) are an award–winning big band out of San Francisco. Led by the manic Lee Presson, LPN has been pounding out their peculiar brand of sinister swing since 1994. They are, if we are to take their word for it (perhaps not a safe choice in general, but we see no good reason not to in this case), the “wildest swing band in the Great 48!” They have been warmly embraced by the steampunk community despite their frequently expressed confusion as to why this might have occurred.

Can A.I. surpass human intelligence?
Will human brains be "augmented" with a chip?
How far can biomedicine extend life?
Is each child an A.I.?
Can a machine make art? Can it win a Nobel Prize?
What will virtual worlds do to our real world?
Is Silicon Valley the modern Frankenstein laboratory?
Will gene editing create a super-human species?
Will robots rule the world?
Can we hack consciousness?
