Listen to your Body: Regulate your painful emotional patterns

Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM PDT

The Center SF
548 Fillmore Street
San Francisco, CA 94117

What better way to respect our body, than to actually listen to it consciously, through its own language (the sensations) when it tells us that something is not OK.

Our body is wired to permanently regulate our emotional patterns... If we only let it do its natural job!
Luc Nicon (French Researcher) was able to isolate a natural, biological capacity for complete Self Emotional Regulation: This Universal capacity is available to all of us at the moment we feel an emotion.

During this workshop, participants will learn how to use the body's sensory memory in order to re-experience the root of an emotional difficulty through its original physical sensations. The complete physical reliving of an emotional root allows to permanently regulate a painful emotional or behavioral pattern. Participants will precisely learn how to use the physical sensations naturally present in the body during an uncomfortable emotional state, to permanently regulate it.

This is a complete training that will bring a concrete knowledge, allowing the participants to permanently resolve autonomously, emotional difficulties when they are active in the body (during the actual emotion).

Breathe Together Yoga
14107 Winchester Blvd, Ste H,
Los Gatos, CA

In this workshop we will be discussing and learning about Karma Yoga. Karma Yoga is defined in the Bhagavad Gita as the yoga of Action. Learn about chapter 3 of the Gita on Karma Yoga and how these spiritual teachings inspired Ram Dass.

Through experiential, didactic and socratic means we will be studying Karma Yoga as a path of grihasta (house holder) spirituality. We will discuss and share the wisdom of our thoughtful and kind community members on what we can do to make the world a better place, and how these efforts contribute to our own happiness. We will also conclude with some singing and chanting.

Ram Dass has spent a lifetime making the deep wisdom of Eastern Spirituality accessible to those in the west, and this workshop focuses on specific teachings and techniques Ram Dass has learned with regards to understanding happiness. From specific meditation techniques, kirtan singing and studying scriptural works, Ram Dass has explored the depths of Eastern thought from Buddhism to Hinduism to bring back these teachings.

5Rhythms for Body, Mind and Spirit - 3 daylong workshops in Berkeley

May 27, June 24 & July 22, 2017 at 11 AM to 5 PM

Western Sky Studio,
2525 8th St.,
Berkeley, CA

This workshop is an opportunity to dive deeper into your personal practice of the 5Rhythms or if you are new to the practice, to experience a luxurious immersion into the Rhythms! Gabrielle Roth says that "the dancing path leads us from the inertia of sleepwalking to the ecstasy of living the spirit of the moment". To this point, we will use the map of the 5Rhythms as a guide to become seriously grounded and resourced in our bodies, connected and expressive in our hearts, emptied of all things unessential in our minds, so that our true essence, whether you call it a soul or spirit can soar and be FREE!  This dance IS a map to ecstasy but it only works if you work it! Whether you join us for one or all of these daylong workshops, you will certainly benefit from the medicine that each has to offer!

BODY, May 27:  Flowing (with a focus on self-care) and Staccato (with a focus on communication and connection) as pathways to the body and heart.

MIND, June 24:  We will use Chaos as the entry point to the mind.

SPIRIT, July 22:   Lyrical and Stillness to access the soul and spirit!

During the workshop, we will use experiential practices and self-inquiry to dive deep into our collective journey.  Sayrah draws from over a decade of experience as a Social Worker with trainings in Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), Yoga and Mindfulness Based Stressed Reduction (MBSR) to name a few.

Please bring a bag lunch, water and wear layers.

Cost: $95/workshop

Free San Francisco Carnaval Festival 2017

May 27 – 28, 2017 (Saturday – Sunday)

Harrison Street and 24th Street,
San Francisco, CA

Come celebrate with us at the 39th annual Carnaval San Francisco! The 2017 Grand Parade will be held on May 28th at 9:30am. Watch a brilliant procession of contingents, most of which will feature beautifully adorned floats depicting rich multicultural themes and featuring performers who engage and entertain the crowds. The 2–day festival will be held May 27th and May 28th on Harrison Street between 16th and 24th Streets. Experience global cuisine, international music, dance, arts & crafts, and other fun activities and entertainment on every street corner for the entire family to enjoy.

2017 marks the 39th annual Carnaval San Francisco parade and festival. On May 27th and 28th, the Mission District will transform into an enormous celebration pulsating with dancing, drumming, live music, brilliant costumes and delicious food. Traditions from Brazil, Mexico, Bolivia, Colombia, Trinidad & Tobago, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Guatemala, Chile, Haiti, and West Africa will be presented. The annual event attracts more than 400,000 people who come to enjoy the revelry and soak up the pageant of color and culture.

San Francisco has always shared a welcoming heart to people from around the world. Some of the residents are economic or political refugees who sought and found sanctuary in neighborhoods throughout the city. Although San Francisco has been hard-hit by gentrification and many people of color have left, it still maintains a distinct flavor by those families, businesses and cultural organizations who have managed to survive.

The theme, El Corazón de San Pancho/The Heart of San Francisco refers to the very essence of what it means to identify with the enriching love that this city has to offer. It’s about belonging, community-building, diversity and celebrating multicultural arts. It means passion, strength, and empathy. It recognizes a common struggle while promoting solidarity and compassion. It’s an acknowledgement that culture cures what’s ailing us, or “la cultura cura.”

The relentless assault of rising rents, evictions, displacement and limited access to economic opportunity is painful but it also serves to unify San Franciscans to cling together and celebrate the beauty of their families and traditions. This bond in the face of adversity is presented in the theme, El Corazón de San Pancho/The Heart of San Francisco.

Have you run into roadblocks on your way to your heart's desire? Has it been challenging to consistently find people (and sex!) of quality? What if it could be fun and easy to find the pleasure, flirtation, and affection you crave?

Relationship coach and sexuality facilitator Alex S. Morgan will pull out their tool kit and show you how to navigate dating and sex with more joy and less stress. Alex has helped hundreds of singles, couples, and moresomes of all genders and orientations get the love and sex they want; come take a peek at their map and learn how to make your own journey easier and more fun!

You'll learn:
·         How to pull in what you want and drop what you don't

·         How to figure out exactly what you need—and learn the formula that makes asking for it easier

By the end of this class, you will:
·         Discover the invitation that takes the stress out of flirting
·         Uncover what makes you authentically attractive to others
·         Know the three things you need to identify to overcome self-sabotaging attractions
·         Develop your own set of filters to "rule in" the kinds of lovers who are a good fit for you, and how to "rule out" the enticing people it just won't work with
·         Negotiate for exactly the kind of play you want—even in the heat of the moment!—without breaking the mood
·         Practice techniques you can use to flirt—and date—for sexual compatibility
·         Learn what a no really means for you, and how to make both hearing it and saying it less awkward
·         Understand the most powerful question for tuning in to your desire, moment to moment

You'll have an opportunity to practice the flirting and negotiation skills we'll cover today—think of it as "lab time"—and will leave with a new set of tools to make your dating life and your sexual journey both easier and more fun.

FREE Workshop: Learn a Powerful Forgiveness Technique

Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM PDT

Merchants Exchange Building
465 California Street
San Francisco, CA 94118

Is there anyone in your life right now that you are angry, triggered by or upset at?
Perhaps a partner, friend, family member, or co-worker? Maybe even yourself?
A specific pattern that keeps on repeating in your relationship or your work with someone?
How does it make you feel?
Why is it so hard to let go of, or get over?
Why can forgiveness be so difficult sometimes?
Did you know that when we feel hurt by someone, our subconscious mind holds resentment in place to protect us?

Sometimes we feel hurt by someone based on the conscious and unconscious beliefs held in the mind.
Consciously, we can try to explore these feelings and try to process them; but if we don't explore our subconscious beliefs that lock resentment in place, forgiveness may be difficult taking years or even a life time. This may create feelings of regret. When regret and resentment are held in place over a prolonged period of time, they block us and keep us stuck from moving forward in life. We energetically stay stuck. They block the flow of magic, abundance, positivity, and our ability to manifest. They may even create illness.

The beliefs held in our subconscious mind create 95% of our life - especially our health and happiness. When we are able to identify false beliefs or fears of the ego that may cause us pain, and when we can forgive someone that has hurt us, we can create positive shifts in our life.

Forgiveness is for you. Not the other person. It is about your freedom from the other person's energy regardless if you choose to continue your relationship with them or not. When we forgive, we take back our power instead of continue to let it drain us of important life force. The energy of forgiveness is one of the highest energetic vibrations of protection. When you say "I forgive you" to someone, this means that you are no longer accepting any negative energy from them.

In this mini workshop, we will use the ThetaHealing technique and learn tools to:
·         Access a theta brain to access the subconscious mind wave through a simple, yet powerful meditation technique you will be able to do on your own
·         Identify limiting beliefs in the subconscious mind that make forgiveness difficult
·         Understand how anger or resentment is serving us at a subconscious level and release it
·         Forgive others through a powerful forgiveness meditation

ThetaHealing is one of the world's most powerful meditation techniques and energetic healing modalities. It operates at the intersection of spirituality, neuroscience, epigenetics and quantum physics.

Cacao Ceremony with Chad Wilkins Trio

Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Be The Change Yoga & Wellness
52 S 1st St, Ste 320,
San Jose, California 95113

Join us for chocolate, ecstatic healing, music, and transformation led by Skye A. Bird and Scott Adam with live music offered up by the Chad Wilkins Trio!

A cacao ceremony is an opportunity to connect to yourself and open your heart. Because of cacao’s ability to increase your connection to your inner self and your heart chakra, it aids in any transformational shift you are working towards, whether you are looking to deepen your understanding of who you are, release old patterns and traumas, or move into a more self-confident space. Whatever your path, the intention is yours to set, and the cacao allows you to access the insight and awareness to move towards that goal.

We will enter into a sharing with each other, of what we want to let go of and what we are calling in, which creates an intention for our journey. This is a very safe and intimate space, and the people that attend will surprise themselves at how they are able to open up, especially when they start to realize they we are all a mirror for each other, all just human beings with the same fears and sufferings, the same hopes and dreams. We end with dance, freedom of movement and live music by the Chad Wilkins Trio during which the cacao activates within the body and the heart, allowing a truly transformative and ecstatic process to unfold.

Cost: $25 - $40
