Asking For What You Want in the Bedroom and Beyond

Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (PDT)

Terra's Temple
3051 Adeline Street
Berkeley, CA 94703

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Everyone says the way to mind blowing sex is to communicate. But, how do you do that when you do not even know, what the options are, how to talk about it or how it will be received?

The challenge of asking for what you want starts within: knowing what you want, feeling like it’s okay or safe to ask for it, knowing literally the words to use for the things you want, and having a good way to get it across to your partner without hurting feelings or missing the point.

Most of us never learned how to tell what we really want in bed, much less how to talk about it openly and honestly. Even if you’ve been in a sex-positive environment for a while, taking the risk in that bare moment of vulnerability can, at best, be super awkward, and at worst, still seem impossible.

In this practical, immediately useful workshop, you will learn basic and advanced skills for identifying what really turns you on and asking for it, so that you are WAY more likely to get it. You will discover:
* What is stopping you from asking for what you want — and your own custom recipe for what to do about it
* How to create a space with your partner, where you both can literally ask for anything, you want — without stressing your relationship
* How to communicate exactly how you want to be touched, turned-on and titillated — and what to do when your partner does not get it right at first
* Quick-n-dirty ways to tell right away if you should keep going when you are feeling unsure about something (without having to sidetrack into tons of processing)
* The secret to solving those annoying “I don’t know… what do YOU want to do?” desire traps (This one opens up a completely new world of play and possibility that will rock your world!)
* Tons of ways to share what excites you — and find out what lights up your partner — with and without using many words

In addition, you will get plenty of practice with new ways of asking and learn a handful of easy games to guide you in the bedroom. Last, but not least, you will leave knowing how to create your own custom menu of sexy activities, of what gets you hot and bothered.

Note: This is a clothing-on, non-sexual, communication workshop. Rated R for language, rated PG for activities.

Cost: $150/person; $225/couple

Mt. View Connect & Cuddle Party Hosted by DEEP Connect

Thursday, March 31 at 7 PM - 9 PM

2560 Fayette Drive
Mountain View, CA

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Touch is the universal language for love, safety, and community. Hugging is the vehicle for touch and cuddling is like a hug on steroids. There is no safer, more comfortable, fun way to cuddle than with your DEEP Connect advocates Rachael & Lyubov by your side guiding your experience in Mountain View.

This party is for 1-st timers and advanced cuddlers. All are welcome.

WHAT HAPPENS AT A CUDDLE PARTY?

FUN getting to know each other exercises. A short meditation for grounding to release nervousness and stress from the day. Using Cuddling to Impact Your Life by Setting an Intention Instructions. Creating the Cuddle Container demonstration including rules, boundaries, and permission asking.

WHY CUDDLING?

Cuddling drops us in our bodies and heart center, where men and women connect with ease leaving every worry, resentment, and hurt behind.

Cuddling is the art of embracing someone with permission and being in the moment. Think of cuddling as a very long hug. In this moment of embrace, there are no expectations, agenda, or responsibility other than to be with your feelings and others.

Cuddle Connects are important in developing deep connection with other people because this is where limiting beliefs are gently nourished out of your body at a much faster pace than just hearing information. It is as if our body uses skin contact to reprogram our body in a gentle loving miraculous way.

Cuddle Connect expedites the healing process and makes your desires come to you at a more rapid pace. After cuddling, you will likely feel more peaceful, at ease, and have an unexplainable contentment.

Cost: $20 (Pay here or in person: http://paypal.me/deepconnect)

Erotic Breathwork for Creative Folk

Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM (PDT)

Berkeley, CA

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Our erotic energy is our creative energy. Almost literally. The source that fuels the creation of a new human is the same source that fuels our artistic creation. It is not an accident that we often call the fruit of our creative pursuits "our babies", or talk about "birthing" a new project.

For many of us, when our erotic energy is stagnant or absent so is our creativity. When our erotic energy is abundant & flowing, so is our ability to create. For some of us our creative juices run out through our sexual outlet, while for others the sexual energy we produce increases our creative energy. Erotic Breathwork is one way of deepening the connection with your erotic energy & shoring it up to fuel your creative pursuits. Breath is an anchor, a vehicle, a springboard to creativity, a direct line to your Muse.

This 4-hour workshop is for Writers, Artists, Performers, Musicians, Entertainers, & Content Producers (or anyone wanting to stimulate their creativity).

Cost: $60 - $100

The Center SF

San Francisco, California 94117

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

We are taking two ancient & effective therapeutic modalities, and combining them into an event of ultimate relaxation.

Acupuncture is an ancient therapy used to alleviate stress, pain and anxiety- sound meditation ('sound baths') soothes you into a deeper relaxation.

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese therapy that is used to alieve stress, pain and anxiety. Very, very thin needles are inserted in a safe way on specific parts of your body. According to traditional Chinese medical theory, acupuncture opens up the pathways for energy (or 'qi') to flow through the body. From a scientific perspective, acupuncture stimulates the nerves in the brain and spinal cord and releases feel good chemicals, such as opioids and serotonin. We will be placing needles between your eyebrows (on your third eye), on your heart and on your head (your crown chakra).

Sound Meditation is the practice of using ancient Tibetan instruments such as gongs and singing bowls to sooth you into a deeper meditation. For those of you who have never been to a "sound bath" before, here is what you can expect: You lie down and are bathed head to toe in sound— it's a very dreamy, ethereal experience.

Cuddle Party is a 3-hour workshop experience where participants engage in communication exercises, explore touch in a non-sexual space, experience personal exploration and intimacy, and have fun with like-minded friends from the community.

Nurturing and consensual loving touch is good for maintaining healthy blood pressure, a strong nervous system and a balanced emotional health. One’s ability to connect with and develop greater trust in others is emphasized during the group exchanges during Cuddle Party’s. Self-care is a cornerstone of Cuddle Party experience.

Cuddle Party is a formal, non-sexual event that offers participants an opportunity to explore intimacy with like-minded others. In a relaxed environment, that upholds personal boundaries and maintains a professional atmosphere, at all times, one is encouraged to engage in communication and touch, in a non-threatening, share-affirming environment.

Cuddle Party is a holistic, social environment, which attracts fascinating people from all occupations and lifestyles. It provides a special and unique opportunity for connection, learning and growth. Come cuddle with us!

Cuddle Party experiences teach participants, they alone create their own safety container. How did it change my life? When I was growing up and received a NO, it felt like I was being rejected. The result was my emphasis on being nice, being lovable and being unconditionally available. The profound learning came when I realized my unyielding YES’s became a subconscious inability to trust another person’s YES, without his or her own personally vocalized NO!

March 24 -27, 2016 (Thursday – Sunday)

Mountain View Masonic Hall
890 Church Street
Mountain View, CA 94035

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Open Floor Encounter is an exhilarating group process containing elements of Gestalt Awareness Practice (GAP), psychodrama, movement and somatic psychotherapy. The essential practice is to make what we feel and think inside, physically visible. Our actions affect others; other's actions affect us. We come to understand the interdependence of being human - there is no such thing as a person having an individual experience.

Within a supportive and challenging environment, we create a 'safe emergency' a situation intense enough to get our attention and supportive enough that we risk moving beyond our habitual patterns.

Open Floor Encounter straddles the middle ground between the edgy, pioneer spirit of group 'Encounter' of the 60's, with the sophistication and finesse of more recent psychotherapeutic insights. Artfully graceful, unpredictable and infinitely creative this process calls forth both our maturity and innate wisdom.

Fee: $345

Nude WOMEN'S DAY Parade - San Francisco

Sunday, March 20, 2016 @ 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Jane Warner Plaza
17-th and Market Street,
San Francisco, CA (map)

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

PARADE PERMIT GRANTED!!! We will have our very own police escort!!! MEN welcome to join us!

Dear body freedom lovers!

You are all invited to a Nude Parade in honor of International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 20-th @ 11 AM at Jane Warner Plaza. Parade will go to City Hall down Market St and back.

PARADE ROUTE: Jane Warner Plaza (Market St and Castro St)- rally, then take Market St to 9th St and Larkin, North on Larkin to McAllister, West on McAllister to Polk St, photo shoot in front of City Hall, down Polk St to Market, back to Jane Warner Plaza

The purpose of this event – besides the joy of walking down the street naked – is to support women and to help create an environment where women can feel safe nude in public.

Women are often treated as sex objects and at the same time shamed for wanting sexual freedom. Many men in our society today do not want to relinquish control over women’s bodies and souls. Many women will shame and attack other women out of ignorance and jealousy. For as long as those attacks are supported by our culture, none of us are truly free nor safe.

In our backward society, a naked man is usually perceived as a threat, while a naked woman is perceived as a sex object asking to be raped and disrespected. On top of that, women are subjected to an enormous amount of pressure to look “perfect” and to conform to some oppressive totalitarian standards that dictate that every woman be anything but herself.

Body freedom for women involves overcoming the obstacles of social prejudice, fear of judgement, fear of perceived violence and personal self-hate. It is about liberating ourselves from the constricting beliefs that were forced on us from infancy and throughout our lives. However, once a woman gets enough courage to get nude in public, if it is done in a positive environment, it is truly liberating. From there on a whole new process of personal liberation can unfold. That is why it is really important for us as a society to examine issues of body shame, issues of oppression of women, issues of sexual violence. It is important to grow and heal and to ultimately create an environment where a nude woman can be safe in public.

We invite you all, nude or dressed or anywhere in between to join our nude rally and parade in honor of International Women’s Day.

Self-Revelatory Performance – Free Workshop

Thursday, March 24, 2016 @ 7:00pm to 10:00pm

Rudramandir
830 Bancroft Way
Berkeley, CA, 94710 United States

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This is a chance to experience the healing power of improvised personal story. It is a sacred act to tell a life-story. It is a sacred act to witness one. Solo performances are filled with heart, passion, and the depth of personal story. Groups take part on an improvisational journey and then take the next step in being witnessed by a heart-centered audience. Solo performances are 10- 20 minutes each with witnessing from the audience.

In self-revelatory performance, the actor crafts an original theatre piece that explores, grapples with, and aspires towards healing a current life-challenge. Unlike autobiographical theatre, which focuses more on recounting life experience, self-revelatory performance involves real-time "working through" of psychological wounds. The actor uses drama therapy methods (such as portraying parts of the self) in creating the piece and within the performance itself. The immediacy and authenticity of self-rev performances makes them compelling and moving theatre that often strikes universal chords in audience members.

A very powerful experience!

Evolution Brain, Compassionate Mind at Ocean of Compassion Buddhist Center

Saturday, March 19, 2016 @ 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Ocean of Compassion Buddhist Center
1550 La Pradera Drive,
Campbell, CA 95008

Compassion is often defined as a “sensitivity to suffering in self and others with a commitment to try to alleviate and prevent it.”  At center of this definition are two basic processes. The first process involves developing courage to see clearly into the nature and causes of suffering—not to shun away or avoid. The second process involves committing to acquiring the wisdom to know what to do. In this short one-day experiential workshop we will look into the nature of suffering as arising from the evolutionary process itself—the flow of life which all living things are caught up in. We will then consider ways in which compassionate motivation and a compassion-focused approach can improve our own well-being and that of others. We will explore how our inner compassionate selves can help to work with difficult emotions and in particular our self-critical sides. The workshop will consist of some teaching, mindfulness and breathing exercises, imagery and guided discovery.

The workshop is open to those who have an interest in this area. Some knowledge of the contemplative traditions would be helpful but not essential. We will be looking at the implications of having a brain that evolved over many millions, and why the human brain is actually very tricky and can be a source of harm as well as healing through no fault of our own. We will have a taste of how compassion cultivation can help us to stabilize and orientate the mind for the well-being of self and others.

The Hungers: Solitude Dance Workshop

Saturday, March 19, 2016 @ 12-6pm

Marin Masonic Hall
888 4th Street
San Rafael, CA 94901

Relationship is not something we do – it is something we are.

We are always in relationship whether sleeping, driving, hiking or working with another. The San People of the Kalahari knew that every human houses healthy hungers for relationship.

We are designed for:
* Solitude, time for ourselves
* Intimacy and connection with others
* Belonging to a family or community
* Resting in something larger than ourselves; communion with spirit

Our hungers change over the course of our life. We may feel satisfied with our solitude yet yearn for intimate partnership. Other times we have endless close connections with barely enough time alone. Each time we move, change jobs, step onto a new dance floor, we can question our sense of belonging. All the while, we remember, forget and remember again to rest in the lap of something much larger than ourselves; something that is basically good.

Each daylong retreat will focus on a hunger. Through dance, sitting meditation, and the riches of this one-day community, we will mine the gold that only relationship can illuminate.

Beginners and Advanced Dancers Welcome.

Fee: $95
