Intimacy Magic Tantra Workshop

Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (PST)

Los Gatos Acupuncture and Qigong Center
761 University Avenue
Los Gatos, CA 95032

This is a second workshop on Tantra, arranged by Kailani and Matt in Los Gatos Acupuncture and Qigong Center. The first workshop has had a great success, and this event is highly recommended for all the people who would like to enhance their spiritual life, engage in funny, sensual, and rewarding activities, and connect with likely-minded individuals.

Intimacy Magic Tantra Workshop an experiential opportunity for you to experience deep connection with yourself and others for greater presence, pleasure and awareness while being in a safe container. You will let go of things that prevent you from being fully presence through active release practices, increase your vitality by moving the energy so you can drop deeper into your own body, heart and spirit. And from that place of contentment and peace in yourself, you will be guided into connection with others through a serious of playful exercises in conscious embodiment, communication, breath, sound and energetic connection.

There will be no nudity and all the exercises are only an invitation to explore. You are welcome to step aside and observe. Please know that even though I will do my best to gender balance the group, you might end up working with a person of your own gender. All the touch we are going to share is of non-sexual nature and you can always say No Thank You. But please know that you might be in a group with people of your gender or even paired up with someone of your own gender.

Couples and singles are welcome. Couples can stay together if they choose to, though it can be beneficial to connect with others at least for some portion of the workshop.

We highly recommend preregistering as the event is likely to sell out.

7-th Annual World Naked Bike Ride - 2016 Southern Hemisphere Edition

Saturday, March 5, 2016 @ 11:00AM -3:00PM

San Francisco, CA

It is time for the World Naked Bike Ride - 2016 Southern Hemisphere Edition. This gives us time to do body/face paint and reacquaint ourselves. Bring body paints, watercolors and markers to apply slogans and designs to each other and adorn your bikes with signs; meet with old and new friends. While it is a "naked" bike ride, all are welcome; it's ride as bare as you dare. That is, body paint, rubber latex, bikinis, topless, lingerie, bubble pack, whatever costume you are comfortable riding with.

As always, our ride is in continued protest of an unsustainable energy policy in all nations around the globe. We support the innovation of alternate and improved energy technologies, the social commitment to a more sustainable energy consumption and generally the pure fun and joy of riding naked to draw attention to these issues.

You decide how much bare you can dare, you can go all out in the joy of sun clad nakedness, go topless, bikinis, body paint or latex, leotard or lingerie, or tuxedos, whatever you feel like.

Our ride route will go through many of our favorite locations along Embarcadero, Fisherman's Wharf, the Mission district, North Beach and of course, our traditional stop for ice cream at Ben & Jerry's on Haight Street.

Mindful Sexuality: A Taste of Psychospiritual Transformation

Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM (PST)

830 Bancroft Way, Suite 110
Berkeley, CA 94710

Have you had the following thoughts last time you were having sex:
* Thinking about your to-do list?
* Wondering if you’d finally get pleasured?
* Worrying about what your body looks like?
* Asking yourself, “when will it be over”?

If any of these thoughts passed in front of your open or closed eyes, you should not feel guilty and upset. You need to know that there are MANY women who can admit on sharing similar thoughts and experiences. Many women long for deeper connection and greater sexual pleasure, but routine thinking and self-consciousness get in their way. These habits of the mind inhibit your ability to drop in, open up, connect, and experience both intimacy and enjoyment.

In the Mindful Sexuality workshops, we dissolve these inhibitions by gently paying attention to the entirety of our sexual experience. We move from the noise and chatter of the mind, to a quiet noticing of each thought, to becoming deliciously attuned to the intricacies of our sexual bodies. By allowing your experience to be exactly as it is—and by releasing yourself from judgment—you can choose to make sex more pleasurable, powerful, and deeply loving.

During this juicy and informative workshop, you will be guided through exercises from one of my main bodies of work—Mindful Sexuality. You will find that bringing a lovingly-focused awareness to your sexuality allows you to:
* Experience peace and deeply felt pleasure in your body;
* Discover the heart of your sexual truths by gently peeling away shame-filled stories;
* Give voice to your most charged passions and fantasies, for both healing AND pleasure;
* Overcome specific—even longstanding—sexual difficulties;
* Link long-term love to truly gratifying sex;
* Bring your full being to sex—every time!

Orgasm vs Ejaculation: Become a Multi-Orgasmic Man

Friday, March 11, 2016 @ 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Bliss Palace
633 E. McKinley Ave,
Sunnyvale, CA

What is the difference between orgasm and ejaculation for men? Are you aware of these being two separate events? Have you ever experienced one without the other? In this class, we will define the differences between male orgasm and ejaculation as well as give ideas and insight into how you can play with this wonderful human ability.

It is true! Male orgasm and ejaculation are two separate things. In Tantra, orgasm is defined as the internal experience of explosive sexual climax, even Alfred Kinsey, the first scientist to study human sexuality in the 1950s, described orgasm as “an explosive discharge of neuromuscular tension”. Ejaculation is the external expression of sexual climax. Through ejaculation orgasmic energy is released from the body. However, a male does not have to ejaculate to experience an orgasm.

It is typical for people to associate male orgasm and ejaculation as the same event. This limits most men to a single climax per sexual experience. Through Tantra techniques such as breath control, pelvic floor manipulation, and shifting of energy, men can learn to separate orgasm from ejaculation to enhance and extend their love making experiences. By extending the experience in this manner, there is a higher potential for multiple orgasms, full-body orgasms, and intense building of sexual energies. Yes, men also have the potential for multiple orgasms.

Ejaculation often depletes the male’s vital energy. As they age, men can display symptoms such as: premature ejaculation, longer time to achieve an erection, force and volume of ejaculate reduced, longer refractory time, and longer time to achieve orgasm. By retaining the ejaculate and orgasmic bliss, men are making a conscious decision to nurture and invest in their youth, vitality, sexually energies and spiritual growth. Are you willing to explore a new way of sexual bliss?

This class is open to men, women, singles and couples.

Cost: $20.00, or $30.00 at the door.

Are you familiar with the question, "Why does this always happen to me?"

Loving Your Body, Loving Your Life – The Workshop

Friday, March 11, 2016 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm and Saturday, March 12, 2016 @ 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Sofitel Hotel San Francisco
223 Twin Dolphin Drive,
Redwood City, California 94065

Your relationship to food is inseparable from your core beliefs about being alive. No matter how sophisticated, wise, or enlightened you believe you are, how you eat tells all. If you want to understand and change your beliefs about abundance, scarcity, deprivation, relaxation, kindness, and what you deserve to give yourself, the world is on your plate. When you begin to understand what prompts you to eat when you are not hungry, the process takes you deeper into realms of spirit to the bright center of your own life.

End the Struggle. In this workshop, you will learn the tools of inquiry, body sensing, meditation, and Geneen's Eating Guidelines that are the basis of the journey itself. Rather than getting rid of your conflicted relationship with food, you will become aware of what is standing in your way. You will learn to welcome what is already here, contact the part of yourself that is fresh and alive, and live the life you truly want. In a safe and supportive environment, you will:

Understand Why the Shape of Your Body Obeys the Shape of Your Beliefs. We starve and stuff, we binge and diet. Not just with food, but with our very life force. But a belief is just a thought you’ve think thousands of time; it is not necessarily true. Learn to identify these limiting beliefs and explore what is true now.

Learn Geneen's Eating Guidelines. Not a diet, not a set of rules, these Guidelines help you to listen to your body, treat it with loving kindness, and feed it what it truly wants.

Discover a Step-by-Step Process to Silence The Voice. If beating yourself up with the inner critic in your head led to change, you would already be perfect. Learn how to separate from that Voice and treat yourself with love and kindness.

Discover How to Understand and Work Through Life's Challenges. No feeling or situation is unworkable. Not heartbreak, not grief, not sadness, not loneliness, not anger. Anything can be felt, sensed, worked through. By inquiring into feelings and beliefs, you can look into and see what is really beneath those compulsions. One taste of this direct knowing and nothing can ever be the same.

You can do it! You can rescue yourself. No matter how you feel, no matter what you believe about your competence or your worth or your capacity to love and be loved, you can change. Join Geneen for these two transformative days and learn to welcome what is already here, already completely—your unique divine self.

"The Joy of Letting Go" - A daylong meditation retreat

Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (PST)

Trinity Episcopal Cathedral
2620 Capitol Avenue
Sacramento, CA 95816

Just what does the phrase "let go" mean? Renunciation (nekkhama in Pali), one of the ten perfections, is often thought of as sacrifice, as something we should do because it's "good for us" though not particularly uplifting. Actually, the Buddha spoke of this quality as leading to true contentment and happiness.

During this day, which includes periods of silent sitting and walking meditation, we will explore the theme of how renunciation is related to joy. We will discuss:
* What letting go means
* How letting go leads to simplicity and balance
* How letting go manifests as the perfection of generosity.
* Practices will be offered to work with letting go in our daily life.

Fee: $20 - $60 (sliding scale)

Introduction to Relationship Anarchy

Sunday, March 13, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (PDT)

Center for Sex and Culture
1349 Mission Street
San Francisco, CA 94103

“Relationship Anarchy- it’s a philosophy that provides a construct for the most consensually-based relationships. Whereas the act of applying labels like ‘monogamy’, ‘primaried’, ‘polyamory’, and so forth, is about defining what we have with someone (sometimes with the belief that by defining something we preserve it, a notion I don’t personally buy into anymore), Relationship Anarchy is a conversation about, “Where are we right now?” and “Who are we today?” and “What’s real for us in this moment?”” ~Mel Mariposa Cassidy

‘Relationship Anarchy’- Is it just another label en vogue, or something that goes beyond labels? Is it only for polyamorous people, or can you be a relationship anarchist and still have sexually fidelitous and monogamous relationships? (The answer to that is – yes!) How does Relationship Anarchy apply to the forming and maintaining of community and tribe? And what does this all have to do with the emerging trend towards promoting Consent Culture and new paradigms for communities?

Join relationship coach and blogger, Mel Mariposa of PolySingleish.com, as she presents an introduction to the principles of Relationship Anarchy and leads us into an exploration of what this all looks like in practice.

$15 in advance / $20 at the door / No one turned away for lack of funds

Evolution Brain, Compassionate Mind at Ocean of Compassion Buddhist Center

Saturday, March 19, 2016 @ 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Ocean of Compassion Buddhist Center
1550 La Pradera Drive,
Campbell, CA 95008

Compassion is often defined as a “sensitivity to suffering in self and others with a commitment to try to alleviate and prevent it.”  At center of this definition are two basic processes. The first process involves developing courage to see clearly into the nature and causes of suffering—not to shun away or avoid. The second process involves committing to acquiring the wisdom to know what to do. In this short one-day experiential workshop we will look into the nature of suffering as arising from the evolutionary process itself—the flow of life which all living things are caught up in. We will then consider ways in which compassionate motivation and a compassion-focused approach can improve our own well-being and that of others. We will explore how our inner compassionate selves can help to work with difficult emotions and in particular our self-critical sides. The workshop will consist of some teaching, mindfulness and breathing exercises, imagery and guided discovery.

The workshop is open to those who have an interest in this area. Some knowledge of the contemplative traditions would be helpful but not essential. We will be looking at the implications of having a brain that evolved over many millions, and why the human brain is actually very tricky and can be a source of harm as well as healing through no fault of our own. We will have a taste of how compassion cultivation can help us to stabilize and orientate the mind for the well-being of self and others.

The Hungers: Solitude Dance Workshop

Saturday, March 19, 2016 @ 12-6pm

Marin Masonic Hall
888 4th Street
94901 San Rafael, CA
United States

Relationship is not something we do – it is something we are.

We are always in relationship whether sleeping, driving, hiking or working with another. The San People of the Kalahari knew that every human houses healthy hungers for relationship.

We are designed for:
* Solitude, time for ourselves
* Intimacy and connection with others
* Belonging to a family or community
* Resting in something larger than ourselves; communion with spirit

Our hungers change over the course of our life. We may feel satisfied with our solitude yet yearn for intimate partnership. Other times we have endless close connections with barely enough time alone. Each time we move, change jobs, step onto a new dance floor, we can question our sense of belonging. All the while, we remember, forget and remember again to rest in the lap of something much larger than ourselves; something that is basically good.

Each daylong retreat will focus on a hunger. Through dance, sitting meditation, and the riches of this one-day community, we will mine the gold that only relationship can illuminate.

Encounter Fundamentals with Andrea Juhan

March 24 -27, 2016

Mountain View Masonic Hall
890 Church Street
Mountain View, CA 94035

Open Floor Encounter is an exhilarating group process containing elements of Gestalt Awareness Practice (GAP), psychodrama, movement and somatic psychotherapy. The essential practice is to make what we feel and think inside, physically visible. Our actions affect others; other's actions affect us. We come to understand the interdependence of being human - there is no such thing as a person having an individual experience.

Within a supportive and challenging environment, we create a 'safe emergency' a situation intense enough to get our attention and supportive enough that we risk moving beyond our habitual patterns.

Open Floor Encounter straddles the middle ground between the edgy, pioneer spirit of group 'Encounter' of the 60's, with the sophistication and finesse of more recent psychotherapeutic insights. Artfully graceful, unpredictable and infinitely creative this process calls forth both our maturity and innate wisdom.
