April 2017: Best Holistic and Entertaining Events in San Francisco Bay Area and Around

Free Powerful Meditation with Satyavati Ma

Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM PDT

Recreation Hall of Infinity Towers
Infinity Towers
338 Spear St
San Francisco, CA 94105

What does Satya Meditation do?

It awakens our “Kundalini Energy” (dormant primordial energy) residing within us. This awakened energy is experienced in the form of vibratory awareness on our nervous system - sympathetic (left and right) and parasympathetic (central).

We begin to realize the truth about ourselves, on our own nervous system. Once this self-knowledge starts flowing, our personality, which may sometimes be imbalanced, slowly begins to become whole and balanced.

Benefits:
  1. Helps release the blocks in the nervous system, and nurtures the nerve plexuses also known as ‘chakras’. These nerve plexuses or chakras, in turn, rejuvenate the organs around them to keep the body free of any illness / disease, bringing balance and equilibrium within and outside oneself. Thus, meditating daily leads to immense self-healing.
  2. Peace of mind and deep relaxation, leading to increase in efficiency and better time-management
  3. Enhanced creativity and problem-solving skills
  4. All-round development of personality resulting in progress, prosperity, well-being and confidence
  5. Improved communication skills and emotional understanding resulting in better relationships at home and work

-- Terry Swoope

Dance therapy is offering numerous benefits for physical, mental, and emotional health. Music itself can be a very powerful tool. It can affect our moods and our state of well-being by triggering memories and other emotional experiences. When dance or any movement is set to music, it can create a stress relieving, joyful and sometimes healing moment for those involved, as well as increasing/releasing endorphins in the brain.

Please join us for the dance movement therapy workshop in Cupertino, where we will explore different attributes of the emotional and physical well-being through set of the creative and fun exercises, mixed with the episodes, filled with free-form dancing.

Main benefits you may expect:

- Getting a good ability to express suppressed emotions
- Establishing a positive and rejuvenating connection with your body
- Improving general physical fitness and gross motor skills development
- Processing internal negative beliefs, improving confidence and self-esteem
- Encourages creativity and imagination
- Connecting others people on emotional level
- Creating a positive life outlook, addressing stressful life events and depressive episodes

Every workshop is different, and the facilitator will follow the flow, adjusting the list of the exercises and free-form dance activities to the created team spirit and atmosphere.

Important notes:

- No partner or previous dancing experience necessary.
- All ages and physical capabilities are welcome. You choose you own level of participation and involvement.
- Please try to be on time, as it is easier to “catch a wave” if you are present from the class beginning.
- Clothing: anything that would let you move freely.
- Shoes: dancing bare-feet is the best, but you can also use soft flat shoes. Please no outdoor shoes on the floor.
- There is plenty of parking near the studio. Follow the GPS guidance, however as soon as you turn to the parking lot from Bandley Drive, you need to drive around the building to find the Li's Wushu Academy Entrance at the back. There are no entrances from the front or sides of the building.

Workshop Facilitator: Tanya Pekker, LMFT

Cost: Recommended donation $15 (cash, at the door).

One Day Holotropic Breathwork Intensive

Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 9 am -7 pm

Santa Cruz, CA

Holotropic breathwork is one of the most powerful and deepest spiritual tools available for humanity today. Discovered by Stan and Christina Grof, the pioneers of transpersonal psychology, this approach offers an opportunity for:
- Self-exploration,
- Healing old traumas of body and psyche,
- Releasing energetic blocks,
- Breaking through the life crisis,
- Connecting with your intuition and wisdom,
- Transforming habitual life patterns,
- Opening up to transpersonal realms and creativity.

The key principle of Holotropic Breathwork is to trust the Inner Healer activated inside of us in non-ordinary state of consciousness. Every person has their own healing process with the content and quality unique for this particular moment. Holotropic setting, evocative music, experienced facilitators, loving and supportive field help us to open the door and initiate the process. The journey begins!

Third Eye and Candle Light

Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM PDT

Sophia Center for Wellness
2100 S. Bascom Ave.
Suite 3
Campbell, Ca 95008

Working with the Third Eye ~ the seat of the Aum.

In this meetup, we will be working with the candle.

Our third eye sits between the eyebrows and when used properly, we could experience greater awareness.

"Opening your third eye metaphysically awakens you from deep slumber. It enables you to start to understand the truth around you. What this means is that you will begin to discover that this world is actually brimming with inequalities and control. You will become motivated to be free and to dwell in a place that is filled with love, truth and compassion. Eventually, you will realize how all the things that surround you are actually connected. Awakening your third eye allows you to have a much deeper connection with the world and the rest of the universe.

Profoundly, it enables you to see the positive side in everything and understand that your body is not really your true self."

Cost: $10

Four Power Techniques to Reverse Aging

Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM PDT

Unity Spiritual Center of San Jose
175 Bernal Road
#104
San Jose, CA 95119

Using music, sacred ancient techniques and channeled wisdom, YaYou Candie brings happiness and health to those in need. In her workshop, each session will begin with sound healing and meditation, including vibrational energy from gongs, Tibetan Singing Bowls, Native American flute and Native American drums. She will sing and chant to aid in the calming of the mind and the opening of the heart to empower connection to our Higher Self and the Divine healing energies that abound throughout the Universe.

Each participant will be taught sacred, yet simple, ancient healing techniques. These techniques, when lovingly applied at the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level, can be truly transformative. When the body is relaxed, the mind gets out of the way – our hearts open wide to absorb wisdom like a sponge and Divine healing takes place.

Go With The Flow - Intro to Vedic Meditation

Sunday, April 9, 2017 at 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm

Chemistry Club
451 Pacific Avenue
San Francisco, CA

Have you been seeing all the scientific research on the benefits of daily meditation? Have you been trying to make it a habit, but found nothing really sticks? Perhaps you're trying too hard.
This workshop will introduce you to the radical practice of allowing yourself to meditate, of allowing your mind to flow with the present, without concentrating or focusing, without having to flip open an app, or put on headphones, or be guided by someone else's voice.

You'll discover where Vedic Meditation comes from, why it's easier to learn and different than Buddhism, Mindfulness and other practices you may have heard of our tried, and you'll learn what make it such a powerful stress-relieving tool.

You’ll also find out why meditators report a huge reduction in insomnia, anxiety, depression, and migraines. They also report enjoying their lives a lot more.

We won't be doing any yoga or chanting so you don't need to wear anything special. This is simply a chance for you to learn how this style of meditation affects the brain and body and see if it’s a good fit for you. You'll also get to meet me and see if I'm the kind of teacher you could learn from...because no one is everyone's teacher.

April 21 - 23, 2017 (Friday – Sunday)

Santa Cruz, CA

Hey couples, and friends with benefits, looking to get juicier in the bedroom...

One of the sweet joys of relationship is that sense of comfort and safety with each other.

However, many couples eventually land in what feels like the "dark side" of that safety. Does this feel like you?

Perhaps your relationship has gotten complacent, resentful or lost the romance and passion it once had.
Sex might have become boring or even nonexistent which starts to feel lonely and depressing even when you spend every day with your beloved partner.

Amongst all this and the hustle-bustle of daily life, its easy to forget the love and desire we have for our partners and our sex life gets put on the back burner.

What you may not know is that enhancing and maintaining a juicy sex-life is the exact ROOT to a fulfilling, juicy, successful happy life - in AND out of the bedroom.

This is why we created the:
Extraordinary Sex, An Experiential Taste of what is Possible
So you can Ignite Your Sex Life & Increase Your Bedroom Fun
This 3-Day Weekend is designed to help you and your partner expand your sexual repertoire and have better sex.

R/evolutionary R/elating: Creating Conscious Connection

April 28 –30, 2017 (Friday – Sunday)

Church of Soul
1550 5th St,
Oakland, California 94607

Let’s face it: We all yearn to give and receive love. We want richer relationships, deeper friendships, more closeness and community in our lives. We may sometimes even notice... in quiet moments… that we’re dogged by a nagging sense of loneliness, separateness.

And yet, when we look closely, we find that we, ourselves, are sabotaging the connection we want — with our own defensive conditioning, our old patterns of fear, dependency, and blame...
We find that we are hiding from each other, fighting with each other.

How are we to drop this old, rusty armor so that we may, at last, see each other clearly… hold each other closely?

I want to share with you a way I’ve learned to do just that.
I want to help you, as I have many others all over the world, to:

– Heal close relationships, with full-body forgiveness
– Let go of shame, fear, attachment to approval
– Open-heartedly share yourself and support others to do so

– Be completely and compassionately honest
– Go beyond blame and use conflict creatively
– Ask for everything you want,
expanding your ability to give & receive
– Create deeper love, connection & intimacy.

Facilitator: Taber Shadburne

Cost: Donations (recommended $200 - $600)
