The Center SF
548 Fillmore St,
San Francisco, California 94117

Kirtan is a form of chanting handed to us via the Bhakti Yoga tradition. Bhakti Yoga is the 'yoga of devotion' aiming for the center of the heart. Its purpose is to soften the heart, calm the mind, and build community. If you've ever spoken or sung 'OM' you have chanted.

Robin has been chanting for many years and can speak directly to the profound benefits.

*It's empowering
*Reduces stress and anxiety
*Releases neurosis and boosts immunity
*Helps alleviate depression
*Helps release addiction
*Fortifies the mind against negative thought
*Cultivates compassion

If you begin to doubt your ability to 'sing', Robin offers you the advice of one of her teachers, 'It's not a performance it's a prayer'.

In addition to Kirtan Robin will be sharing the myths and stories behind the chants offered. These stories are so beautiful and deeply woven with imagery meant to inspire, illuminate, and awaken the spiritual knowledge inherent in all people.

No Yoga mat needed. Come in comfortable clothing as we will be sitting.

And, please, stay after or come early to enjoy the space and the tea.

Cost: $20.
