Please join us for unique, first of its kind, event featuring the majestic sound of Russian bells. The event program comprises:
ü  Introduction On Russian Bells and Bellringing by Mark Galperin;
ü  Russian bell concert by Bellringer Victor Avdienko;
ü  Screening of Blagovest Bells' film A Voice of Pure Earth: The Sacred Bells of Russia.

San Francisco Symphony’s extraordinary percussionist Mr. Avdienko will play a Russian peal (kolokola)–a set of authentic Russian bronze bells in a unique secular performance.  The 6-bell peal was cast in 2014 by Pyatkov & Co., a famous modern Russian bell foundry, and the bell instrument (zvonnitsa) was built in 2015 by Blagovest Bells of Novato, California– the sole promoter of Russian bells and bell-ringing in the U.S.  The program of the concert will include several traditional chimes (zvons), a few contemporary pieces, and some improvisations.
