dancing to the music of the glorious Bangers & Mash. Admission is FREE -

admired but not required. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic and are

want to bring blankets to sit on or period-looking picnic furniture and
accoutrements. Please note that our picnic is NOT A POTLUCK! Our hard-working
catering coordinator and her staff are taking a well-earned break!)
Costumers: Be stunningly fashionable or sensibly casual

Abbey fantasies! But if you plan to dance, be sure to wear sensible low-heeled
shoes, dance sneakers, or boots suitable for outdoor dancing.

As the Wheels Turn
– Chakra Balancing Workshop
Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (PDT)
The Center SF
548 Fillmore St,
San Francisco, CA 94117
In this 3 hour workshop you are invited to investigate
the layers of the subtle body. Chakra means wheel in Sanskrit, they are
spinning vortices within the subtle body that move with and allow life energy
a.k.a. prana a.k.a. chi to move freely (or no so freely) through the body. The
term chakra come from India, however there are many ancient traditions that
talk about and teach what is essentially the chakra system. There are 7 major
chakras throughout the body, they follow the central channel from our pelvic
floor up to the crown of our heads. The chakra system is like a map for the
journey through life, it covers the full range of human possibility. Each
chakra can be seen to manifest its self though various physical traits,
attitudes, mental stability and affliction, health, energetic sensibilities and
much more. Starting from our root chakra that links us to the material world up
to the crown chakra that connects us to the divine energy of consciousness.
In this workshop we will discuss theory of each chakra,
how they relate to each other, how they manifest within us, and how we can work
with the chakras through meditation, diet, asana (physical postures), sound,
breath, colors, essential oils, and crystals. We will explore these various
techniques throughout the day and leave with a greater understanding of what is
happening presently within our own subtle body, and taking away easy and
practical techniques that can be applied everyday. When we work mind and body
together with a deeper understanding of the subtle body life’s basic tasks can
flow more smoothly and enjoyably.
What to expect during the workshop:
-An opening and centering meditation to ground us
in the space and bring awareness into the chakras.
- Theory of the chakra system and how they manifest.
Useful tools to engage and balance the chakras.
-Breath and body yogic movement through the chakras.
- Creative chakra meditation.
-Closing meditation.
There will be a short break for snacks and drinks. Please
bring a notebook and a pen. Wear something comfortable, we will be sitting and
stretching.
This workshop is great for all who are interested in
diving deeper and receiving more information about the chakras. Whether you
have already studied chakras or only heard the term here and there, this
workshop is intended to provide greater understanding and techniques for
accessing the chakras and creating balance from within.

Nonlinear Nature
Play
Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 10 AM - 3 PM
Rodeo Beach (Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Marin
County)
This workshop offers an immersion in a natural, nonlinear
(outdoor) environment and explores the idea that human health and resilience
are similarly nonlinear.
"In physical sciences, a nonlinear system is a
system in which the output is not directly proportional to the input."
(source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nonlinear_system)
The possibility that the output is not directly
proportional to the input has exciting implications for training structures: it
suggests that we can occasionally forgo sets, reps, and drills in favor of
illogical improvisation and irregular play.
With that in mind, we'll walk, crawl, roll and scramble
in the sand, dip our toes (and maybe our hair) in the ocean, and play plenty of
games that capitalize on the erratic beauty of that liminal space where the
waves meet the shore.
Schedule:
10am-12:15pm: gather, warmup, prep, explore
12:15pm-12:45pm: snack
12:45pm-3pm: team games, group goals, wave play, sand battles
Cost: $60
The Tibetan Bell
Experience with Karma Moffet
Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 7 PM - 9 PM
The Center SF
548 Fillmore St,
San Francisco, California 94117
Karma has sifted through nearly 3000 bowls over a period
of 43 years. His bowls were selected for their purity and clarity of sound,
sustained resonance, and harmonic blending or pairing with the other bowls
within the set. The bowls are handmade, using from five through seven metals.
The Tinsha Cymbals are made of black metal (twelve alloys including meteorite).
The varying thickness of the metals produces a variety of tones and harmonics,
within each bowl. When the bowls are played in runs or struck in pairs, their
harmonics penetrate the physical and subtle bodies of the listeners. Karma's
mastery of circular breathing, which he applies to the Longhorn, Native
American Flute and Conch Shells, allows him to bring the pure tones of each
instrument to the listener in an unbroken stream of sound. The audience relaxes
into a natural state of meditation.

Kundalini Kriya
Yoga Day Retreat
Sunday, August 7, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (PDT)
Donworth Hall
473 Eucalyptus Drive
San Francisco, CA 94132
At this retreat, you will be initiated into the ancient
Himalayan knowledge for self-mastery called Babaji's Kundalini Kriya Yoga. By
focusing your mind, breath, and prana, you tune your nervous system and purify
your meridians from toxic chemicals, thoughts, and energy vibrations. You are
left with pure, crystal clear Awareness. This very simple daily practice can be
practiced by anyone and is the most potent method to completely dissolve the
mental shackles of negative thoughts and habits. For the dedicated
practitioner, the Kundalini Kriya Yoga converts the material atoms of the body
into divine light and love.
Most importantly, Yogiraj will transmit a boost of
spiritual energy to begin your Kriya practice, or to further propel you onward
in your existing practice. There will be opportunities to seek guidance on your
own inner spiritual journey, as well as answer any questions on the deeper meanings
of yoga and meditation. Healing transmissions, Q&A and satsang will follow
the Kriya Yoga initiation.
Teachers (acharyas) will be available to review and
refine your practice, as well as to provide follow-up classes and gatherings in
the Bay Area. Wearing of white or light-colored clothing is advised. An
offering of five fruits and flowers is an Indian tradition but is optional.
Ladies no skirts please, there will be asanas (yogic postures) taught in the
technique. Please also bring a blanket or cushion to make yourself comfy on the
tile floor. Chairs are available for those who absolutely cannot sit on the
floor.

You are invited to spend a day of renewal with yoga
teacher and author Darren Main in this day long Restorative Yoga Retreat.
Restorative yoga is a modern expression of an ancient practice known as Yoga
Nidra. By holding fully supported and deeply relaxing yoga poses in combination

flight' response in the nervous system and invigorate the 'rest and digest'
response to inspire a stronger immune system, healthy digestion and elimination
and a calm and quiet mind. Throughout the day you will be guided through a
number of nurturing practices including gentle and restorative yoga poses, deep
breathing and meditation. Between each practice you will be able to relax with
Harmonia facilities. Leave feeling fully refreshed and glowing from a day of
self-care.

Bliss Fitness and Health
4268 Broadway,
Oakland, CA

Meditation Master James Brown and licensed Yogini Karen Moore.
Did you know the practice of yoga was developed to get
the mind ready to meditate? Newbies and experts alike are invited to join us to
learn the practice of “Rounding," in which these two practices are
combined to maximum effect. Rounding combines a special sequence of very light
yoga asanas that was designed to allow the mind to dive deeply, a Vedic breathing
technique and meditation. The result will be to enable a profoundly deep and
energizing experience that will expand consciousness and help you release
long-held stresses from the nervous system. The practice works to enhance the
effectiveness of all forms of silent meditation. If you don’t yet meditate, you
will be instructed in a simple, effortless technique to use during the
workshop.
