Jai Uttal Live Kirtan in Santa Cruz

Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 7 PM - 9 PM

Pacific Cultural Center
1307 Seabright Ave,
Santa Cruz, California 95062

Embark on a vocal journey through the sacred sounds of ancient India. Drawing from an unbroken tradition of Indian devotional singing, Jai Uttal will introduce and lead us in the ancient practice of "Kirtan" (or chanting), the heart of devotional yoga. This practice of calling to the divine creates a bridge between the individual and the eternal, opening the heart and welcoming the spirit. Sometimes soft and meditative and sometimes loud and wildly rhythmic, Kirtan takes the participant on a deep emotional and musical journey through our mostly unexplored inner world. With solo performance and call-and-response group chanting, Jai creates a space of invocation, prayer, and heartfelt expression.

Jai has been leading Kirtans worldwide for over thirty years. "These ancient chants," writes Jai "contain a transformative power and healing energy. By singing these prayers we join a stream of consciousness and devotion that has been flowing for centuries."

No previous experience is needed. This is an exploration of the heart, independent of vocal or musical technique.

Jai Uttal, a Grammy nominated sacred music composer, recording artist, multi-instrumentalist, and ecstatic vocalist, combines influences from India with influences from American rock and jazz, creating a stimulating and exotic multi-cultural fusion that is truly world spirit music. Having traveled extensively in India, where he met many beautiful saints and singers, Bhakti yoga became his personal path. Jai has been leading kirtans around the world for more than 30 years, creating a safe environment for people to open their hearts and voices.

Cuddle Party with Marcia

Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 7:00 PM – 10:30 PM PDT

Kensington, CA 94708

Cuddle Party is a short workshop in non-sexual touch, boundaries and communication, followed by a couple of hours to put what you’ve learned into practice by enjoying and exploring touch. (Think hugs, foot rubs, back rubs, spooning and just general non-sexual snuggling.) Join us for an exploration of nurturing, some sweet affection, loving connection, and an opportunity to hone your boundary and communication skills.

At this Cuddle Party, Marcia Baczynski, the co-founder of Cuddle Party, gently leads you and the other guests through an orientation, where you’ll learn to make easy, respectful requests and communicate clear boundaries, and where we’ll go over the simple rules. Then you’ll have plenty of time to relax, chat, cuddle, have a snack, or just hang out.

This is a terrific opportunity to explore high-quality touch, practice asking for what you want, and experiment with setting boundaries.

Cuddle Party is not a sexual event! Everyone remains clothed in pajamas and agrees to the Cuddle Party Rules, which include:
·         Arrive on time for the welcome circle/orientation.
·         Ask for what you want and get a verbal “yes” before proceeding.
·         You don’t have to cuddle anyone you don’t want to, or anyone at all, ever.

Some people are already comfortable with touch and can’t wait to be in a place where that’s OK. Others aren’t even sure they want any touch at all, but come to explore some communication skills. Others are just curious about what it might be like. Whatever your reasons, a Cuddle Party is a great playground for discovering more about yourself, for exploring new ways of connecting with others, or simply enjoying a relaxing, cozy evening with other cuddly souls.

Sunnyvale, CA 94086

The Megatones return to the Sunnyvale Summer Series, Music and Marketplace this Wednesday, August 2nd. Come join us for this rocking summer street party!

Spending most of his young life in Atlanta and Nashville, he was influenced by rock/blues groups like the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, and the Who, as well as bluegrass/folk of Tony Grisman, the Eagles and the Grateful Dead. He got his professional music start doing with solo guitar/singer gigs in Nashville clubs, next moving and playing for several years in Boulder, Colorado, until eventually landing in the bay area in the late 80's.

After a few initial shows with the group the Extremes, he and friends Dick Sillman and Joe Bac formed the earliest incarnation of the Megatones, with drummer Pat Greene and bassist Dave Buchanan. Ken Stollman soon replaced Dave on bass, with Mike Wills joining on drums, and the band quickly established itself as one of the premier cover bands in the bay area, headlining big parties at the Hearst Castle and the Mark Hopkins Hotel SF, and playing innumerable shows at local clubs. Night moves - candlelight sexy yoga flow

Friday, July 28, 2017 at 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM PDT

The Center SF
548 Fillmore Street
San Francisco, CA 94117

night moves is a candlelight sexy flow practice, rooted in principles of yoga, dance, pole dancing, burlesque, intention-setting, meditation, and pleasure. Together, we will practice, stretch, move, sweat, explore, and release our innermost desires.

Our practice begins once you walk into the calming warmth of The Center, feeling the heat rush on the skin as you enjoy a glass of tea in the Tea Room, relishing the butterflies of excitement as the doors opening, candlelight beckoning you in. Taking a candle in hand as you enter, you unroll your mat, look to your friend, and give her hand a squeeze. It is now time to begin.

Each of us lights our candles together, setting our intention for the practice, lighting our way for our own journey within. Anticipation builds as we begin our practice, slowly unwinding the tension and stories from before, to embark on a new path of openness and pleasure. Layers of clothes and anxiety peel off effortlessly, enjoying moving in our own skin, however it looks and feels and stretches that day. Sweat drips, temperature rises, bass throbs, chanting louder, as we go deeper together, with healing touch adjustments and savasana provided to encourage this profound experience. Finally, we emerge united, free, and full.

All are welcome in whatever feels best to move and sweat within. Sexy attire always encouraged.

Ecstatic Heart Puja

Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM PDT

The Center SF Teahouse
548 Fillmore
San Francisco, CA

A Puja is a Tantric Ritual of worship where we gather to share connection, celebrate life, and tap into our own divine life-force energy. At this Ecstatic Heart Puja, we will be creating a safe space to call in the sacred, open our hearts and tap into our juicy sensuality and sublime presence. It's a celebration of love through a series of heart-opening partnered experiences. You'll be guided into your senses through sacred poetry - connecting with your own body through movement and breath and to others through eye-gazing and healing touch.

This Puja is based on the poetry of the Radiance Sutras, a modern interpretation of the Vijñāna Bhairava Tantra, an ancient Tantric text. Through an series of meditations, Shiva offers his consort, Devi, practices that lead into "joyous union with the life of the universe."

This is a fully clothed event. You are welcome to participate at exactly the level that feels right for you.

Sacred Healing from the Hive

Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

The Sacred Well
536 Grand Ave,
Oakland, CA

The bees know the deep magic of sweetness, connection, and golden alchemy. The plants know a magic about the potency of healing and opening to the fragile budding energies of springtime.

In symbiosis, these magics create a third: the power to integrate with the earth, body and soul, and blur the imaginary line between the human world and the natural world through sweetness, healing, magic, and connection to the vibrant creative energy of the season.

In this class, we will dive into honey magic and plant magic, finding our own paths as healers and mellissaes.

Through trance journey work and learning the dances of the hive, we will connect to the plants and the bees on the soul level, and listen to their stories and learn to navigate the honey roads. We'll focus on learning their lessons about opening to the sweetness of spring, and experiencing the true gift of interdependence with our community, in times of challenge and in times of celebration.

Through hands-on medicine making, we will learn to harness the power of the natural world to heal our bodies, minds, and spirits. We'll explore herbal honeys, syrups, cordials, and flower essences. And we'll experience the bounty of this work -- everyone will come home with treats for themselves or to give as gifts.

Oakland, California 94612

The Reclaiming Your Sexy Intensive Will
·         Get Out Of Your Head
·         Release Stress &Tension from the Mind & Body
·         Bring loving attention to your body
·         Creates a safe space for you to see your body in a new light
·         Safe space for you to strip (literally and figuratively) back the stories and the memories that you've been holding that prevent you from really seeing yourself completely.
·         Gives you the practical tools that you need to conquer self-doubt, criticism and disconnection in your day to day life so you can not only feel sexy while you're moving but you feel that power in your day to day life.

The Reclaiming Your Sexy One Day Intensive Process:
·         Sensual Moving Meditation
·         Striptease x Sensual Floorwork
·         Group Coaching & Practical (Non-Bs) Spiritual Tools
·         I developed the "Reclaiming Your Sexy" process over a number of years of trial and error and seeing what worked best for my clients and what worked best in giving them what they needed in order to come back home to their sexy. I found this combination of coaching tools to be the magic sauce so to speak.

Sensual Moving Meditation is a practice of calming the mind and body and really getting to the core of what's heavy on your body and weighing on your body. This portion of the intensive is very much like a yoga class but with slow + sultry R&B music, candle light and special attention to allowing yourself to feel and connect to your body without inhibition. The moving meditation starts with a prompt/reflection and you're given time and space to journal throughout the segment as needed.
