Viennese Ball is an exciting Stanford tradition featuring
social dancing, live music, performances, and contests. It began on-campus in
1978 by students returning from the Stanford-in-Austria program, who were inspired
by the vibrant mid-winter balls in Vienna. Since then, the ball has blossomed
into a magnificent formal affair, held this year at the Hyatt Regency in
Burlingame. Come join us for Stanford's 41st annual Viennese Ball!
The ball is open to dancers of all skill levels, and will
feature:
- A magnificent Opening Ceremony with a polka and waltz
performance by the Opening Committee
- Two ballrooms with live music: a waltz room and a swing
room
- A Contemporary Room with tango, salsa, and other pop
music
- Performances by Cardinal Ballet, Swingtime, Los
Salseros, and The Academy of Danse Libre
- Dance contests, light refreshments, a photography booth
and much, much more
