What:
Developing a Kind Heart – A series that will open the heart and bring balance in relationships

This series will nurture the development of four profound qualities of heart: loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. These four qualities express a powerful and immeasurable intention of kindness toward ourselves and all beings. They are traditionally called the Divine Abodes (Brahma Viharas) or dwellings of the gods. When these qualities are well developed the heart-mind will be liberated from ill will, cruelty, envy, expectation and demand—one will dwell with a pure “divine” perception of all things.

Everyone is welcome. No registration is required. Chairs are provided, but bring a sitting mat and cushion if you prefer to sit on the floor; it is not carpeted.

March 5 – Loving Kindness with Kim Allen
March 12 – Compassion with Cheryl Branco
March 19 – Empathetic Joy with Berget Jelane
March 26 – Equanimity with Angie Boissevain
April 2 – Community Practice: Sitting and walking meditation with Sharon Allen

IMSB relies entirely upon the generosity of participants to support our teachers and cover organizational expenses. Dana is a word in the ancient Pali language that describes donations, offerings and generosity. Two bowls will be available at an event to practice dana for the teacher and IMSB; we encourage you to give joyfully and generously, according to your resources and means. IMSB is a 501(c) (3) organization. All donations are tax deductible as permitted by law.
