Harbin Temple - Grief Ritual and Drum Circle

Thursday, September 17, 2015 @ 7:00pm -11:00pm

Guava Space
4210 Holden Street, Emeryville, CA

Love you, Harbin people, be strong!

I envy those who have never been in Harbin Hot Springs, and who do not have emotional pain from the news that the resort was lost to the fire. For many, it has been a true refuge of recovery, healing, grounding, rejuvenation, and spiritual growth. There was the place to understand the real meaning of “here and now” concept. There was the place, where you could forget easily about politics, news, Facebook, personal losses, and other severe realities of the outside World.

We are grieving for the space, we are grieving for the spirit, and we are grieving for the social connections.

The Harbin will be rebuilt, and your help is essential to make that a reality.

The first gathering for all Harbin people will happen this week at Guava. Let’s gather to grieve together, to heal our hearts through grief ritual, sharing (bring photos, momentos, anything you want to share on the community altar) and drumming.

After the ceremony, those interested can stay on to discuss fundraising ideas, how we can help to rebuilt Harbin Hot Springs Resort, how we can help those who lost their physical home an personal belongings.

7:00 - Potluck/Connecting/Sharing
8:00 - Ceremony and Drum Circle
10:00 - Open Discussion
