A Prohibition Speakeasy Ball with Sara & Swingtime

Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 6:30 PM – 11:59 PM

Alameda Elks Lodge #1015
2255 Santa Clara Ave,
Alameda, California

Rouge your knees, roll your stockings down, and join our riotous Prohibition era dance party with 1920's and 30's music by Sara & Swingtime, one of the hottest dance bands in town, playing hot Swing, cool blues, and elegant vintage ballroom dance music, a beautiful assortment of waltzes, and, of course, the notorious Charleston.

For you flappers and Bright Young Things wanting a brush-up, we'll have a pre-ball dance class at 7 pm in Vintage Fox Trot and Survival Swing. Formal dancing follows from 8 pm to midnight.

Doors Open: 6:30 p.m.
Dance Lesson: 7:00 p.m.
Dancing Begins: 8:00 p.m.

Vintage or modern evening dress or costumes from the Prohibition era (1919 -1933) are admired, but not required. If you like, feel free to wear your Gatsby Summer Afternoon attire instead. You'll see lots of different fashions at this Speakeasy! But don't pack heat! Leave your guns and other weapons at home. This is a classy joint!

Needless to say, a great no-host bar will be at your service and complimentary light snacks will be served (The Boss welcomes your potluck contributions!).  And don't miss the sizzling dance performance of our lovely guests, the Someday Sweethearts!

The password is "Swordfish!"

Cost: $25 at the door.
