AfroHouse Dance Workshop with Rashad aka Soul Nubian
Returning from a creative residency in South Africa
bringing the Gqiom, Amapiano and Kwaito vibes! This workshop will explore the
South African street dance movement with the fundamentals of black American
House steps that include the: Jack, Stomping and Footworking.
AfroHouse: is a stylized club & street dance that
blends Pan-African dance and House dance as a unified form. Rooted in South
African music & dance culture, as a technique: AfroHouse explores AfroUrban
stylistic transitions and sensibilities with the four on the floor bass rhythm.
AfroHouse also pays homage to the roots of soulful lofting, traditional West
African Dance, Afro-Caribbean and Capoeira where traditions converge on the
dance floor.
