Death takes our loved ones, and someday it will take us. Dreading it does not serve us. Let’s look at ways to better understand and befriend it. Coming to terms with death is the key to living fully, free of anxiety, affliction, and woe. In this interactive workshop, we will share stories of triumph over loss; use journaling to further each person’s healing journey; contemplate the nature of life beyond death for loved ones and ourselves; and we will also perform an Astral Ascension ceremony in celebration of the next life that awaits us. Led by Surendra James Conti.

Conti is an author, teacher, and avid observer of the human scene. He is also the former manager of this East West Bookshop, where he and his wife served from 2002-2011. His book, Let Me Remember This, is a collection of his essays. Surendra is currently the director of Ananda’s Temple and Teaching Center in Portland, Oregon.
