Blindfolded Contact: Surrendering to Our Inner Sight

Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM PDT

Finnish Hall Auditorium
1970 Chestnut St
Berkeley, CA

Blindfolded Contact Dance is a safe and gentle experience—great for both beginners and experienced dancers alike. Wearing blindfolds allows dancers to drop the fear and self-judgment that often inhibits spontaneous movement and authentic connection to self and others. These workshops take participants on a journey of somatic self-discovery and non-verbal consent via solo and group exercises before culminating in an hour-long freeform blindfolded jam.

We will open with a short circle addressing boundaries and safety. Please arrive between 6:30-7. This is closed container. Late arrivals will not be admitted and will not receive a refund.

We have a high expectation of personal responsibility and respect regarding consent and boundaries.

Learn more about us and read the code of conduct at http://www.blindfoldedcontact.com/

If you have a blindfold (or something that can be used as one), please bring it. Otherwise we will have some available.

There are no steps, no choreography, and no mistakes. This experience will surprise you by revealing more dance mastery than you believe you have.

Dance is a powerful tool that can lead to deep emotional healing when combined with ritual. Every emotion has an energetic signature in the body, which can be accessed through movement. This guided practice combines dance, meditation, and ceremony to help you gain new abilities as a dancer and allow for emotional expression.

Naia Riley has trained extensively in the fields of movement as medicine, nutrition, mental health, and ceremony facilitation.  With experience teaching and performing around the world, these workshops help you to discover more of your authentic self and feel at greater ease in your body. She utilizes Tantric principles of breath, sound, and movement to facilitate sacred awakening.

Naia Riley is certified through Master Movement Director, Anandha Ray, to offer Shamanic Fusion Dance classes. Anandha developed this modality over three decades of performance, choreography, and directing. These techniques fuse modern dance practices with theories of dance/movement therapy to create a healing and expressive art form. Shamanic Fusion Dance is influenced by indigenous cultural rituals and a lifetime of research into the therapeutic and transformational aspects of dance and performance.

Extended Full Body Orgasm ~ Live Demonstration

Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM PDT

Erwan Davon Teachings
2501 HARRISON ST
#15
San Francisco, CA

What most of us associate with orgasm is seconds of deep pleasure, release and the post-and the post- release relaxation and joy. Even in multiple orgasms the way most people experience them, it is mostly about getting aroused and 'reaching' orgasm again and again in irregular intervals.

With Extended Full Body Orgasm we use a whole different paradigm. The whole experience is an ongoing state of orgasm. It is a moving away from trying to 'get there' in order to have a pleasurable ecstatic release ...and move towards an already existing state of pleasure in the body, and letting go into that at deeper and deeper levels.

The demonstration will include exposure of a woman's genitals, so you can see the techniques as they are being explained and practiced. Many of the principles and techniques to pleasure a man there are the same or at least comparable. The differences will be addressed and explained (there will be no demonstration of male full body extended orgasm)

By purchasing your ticket you are agreeing that you are comfortable with that kind of experiential life demonstration taking place.

There will be no nudity or sexual touch between participants

Singles and Couples are welcome.

Hayward Russell City Blues Festival 2019

July 13 - 14, 2019 (Saturday – Sunday)

Hayward City Hall Plaza
777 "B" Street
Hayward, CA

This little town of African-American's who migrated here from the deep south was one of the proving grounds for many blues musicians. Russell City, an unincorporated area of Hayward, California is about 12 minutes from the City of Oakland. This community of modest houses and small farms along the bay is now gone. During it's heyday, Russell City was a down home, known for it's clubs with dirt floors, bootleg electricity and a steady stream of musicians playing a unique style of Delta Blues. During the early part of their careers, artists such as Big Joe Turner and Big Mama Thornton played Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana style blues in Russell City. West Coast Blues music eventually influenced the traditional sound when horns replaced the harmonica and West Coast Blues was born. Russell City is a landmark on the map of American's contributions to world culture giving Hayward a unique musical legacy reflecting the African-American experience. We are pleased to bring those sounds back through the Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival. The Hayward-Russell City Blues Festival celebrates the rich history, musical and cultural art form found in Russell City and Hayward during the post war years from the 1940's thru the 1960's.

Cost: $50/two days. Or $30/day
