A Daylong Journey Into the Creative Portal

Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 12 PM – 5 PM

Heart Source
1600 Shattuck Ave, # 125,
Berkeley, California

Join us for this day-long journey into the realm of Spontaneous Play & Intuitive Knowing

Improvisation, or the art of awakening intuitive knowing thru spontaneous play, is an ancient art form used as long as humans have existed. This powerful vehicle provides the opportunity to tap into an inner knowing that goes beyond our rational thinking. It exists in a stream of consciousness dimension, similar to the world of our dream time.

Through the art of spontaneous play and intuitive knowing we will improvise our way into unique, liberating and healing relationships with ourselves and each other. We will access incarcerated aspects of our inner being and free them through whole body intention, relationship development, and group play.

The vehicles of prayer (or intention setting) and medicinal music and sounds will help paint the pictures and open the portals into alternate worlds and inner landscapes. Together we will weave these landscapes into stories, journeys and relationships that extend beyond our wildest imagination into the realm of limitless creative possibility.

*Connect to the power of vulnerable creative play
*Discover untapped creative forces within
*Develop a relationship with your sacred fool
*Support in expressing your true voice in front of an audience
*Heal & Release through Laughter
*Access new or dormant aspects of your creative being
*Overcome fears and cultivate new courage
*Practice problem solving skills through creative play
*Experience connection between the creative mind, body, spirit

Blindfolded Contact: Surrendering to Our Inner Sight

Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM PST

Studio 12
2525 8th St
Berkeley, CA

Blindfolded Contact Dance is a safe and gentle experience of contact dance—great for both beginners and experienced contact dancers alike. Wearing blindfolds allows dancers to drop the fear and self-judgment that often inhibits spontaneous movement and authentic connection to self and others. These workshops take participants on a journey of somatic self-discovery and non-verbal consent via solo and group exercises before culminating in an hour-long freeform blindfolded jam.

We will open with a short circle addressing boundaries and safety. Please arrive between 6:45-7. This is closed container. Late arrivals will not be admitted and will not receive a refund.

We have a high expectation of personal responsibility and respect regarding consent and boundaries.

If you have a blindfold (or something that can be used as one), please bring it. Otherwise we will have some available for sale.

Facilitators: Candice Holdorf & Gabriel Diamond

Cost: $25 - $40

An Evening with Postmodern Jukebox

Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 8 PM to 11 PM

The Warfield
982 Market St,
San Francisco, California

Postmodern Jukebox originated when Bradlee began shooting videos with his close friends from college in his small basement apartment in Astoria, Queens. This original group included bassist Chris Anderson, saxophonist Ben Golder-Novick, harpist Brandee Younger, and vocalist Emma Walker.

Bradlee struggled for years post-college as a jazz musician in the New York City area before hitting it big with his first viral video in 2009 – "a medley of '80s songs done ragtime style." A tweet from famed author Neil Gaiman was the beginning of his eventual online viral popularity.

Vocalists Ariana Savalas, Morgan James, and Haley Reinhart, and saxophone player Ben Golder-Novick performing with Postmodern Jukebox at a Live Concert in Cologne, March 2015.

In 2011, a precursor to the Postmodern Jukebox concept emerged in the form of Bradlee's project A Motown Tribute to Nickelback. It was this video that introduced the world to many PMJ featured performers including bassist Adam Kubota, drummer Allan Mednard, emcee Drue Davis, sax / EWI player / producer Steve Ujfalussy (also known as '90s R&B icon "Steve Sweat" from Saturday Morning Slow Jams) and Tambourine Guy, Tim Kubart.

Metropolitan Klezmer: Family Hanukkah Concert

Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Schultz Cultural Arts Hall
3921 Fabian Way
Palo Alto, CA

Hailed as "one of the finest American klezmer bands" by Songlines Magazine (UK), Metropolitan Klezmer performs an exhilarating range of musical treasures with astonishing agility and refreshing depth.

Formed in 1994 by drummer/lead Eve Sicular, this collaborative adventure of exceptional New York musicians combines the best of jazz, classical and world music scenes to create inspired neo-traditional interpretations and compositions around a panoply of eclectic Yiddish repertoire: ethereal trance, rollicking dance, imaginatively-arranged Yiddish swing and tango, plus genre-expanding originals such as klezmer cumbia.

Touring from coast to coast, the group recently debuted at Denver's JAAMM Fest (CO) and Falcon Ridge Folk Fest (NY), and reprised at Scottsdale Center for the Arts (AZ). The group drew overflow audiences for their Music in Yiddish Cinema multi-media concert at NYC's Lincoln Center, The Museum at Eldridge Street and Cinema Arts Centre Long Island's Jewish Film Gala Opening.

Broadcast worldwide on HBO, PRI, NPR, WDR and many more, Metropolitan Klezmer brings together stellar bandmates with stylistic backgrounds—from Latin jazz to funk and folk, Balkan to Zydeco to baroque and reggae to opera to R&B—complete with panoramic instrumental arrays and multi-lingual vocals. The ensemble also explores such lesser-known gems as Soviet Yiddish theater melodies and drinking songs, gorgeous overlooked soundtrack tunes from vintage films set in Eastern Europe and the Lower East Side, and unexpected musical angles which transform familiar favorites from the inside out.

Cost: $35 - $40

Tea Ceremony in San Bruno

Friday, December 7, 2018 at 7 PM – 10:30 PM

410 Hawthorne Ave,
San Bruno, CA

Please join us for a tea ceremony where I will be presenting you with an array of herbs, teas, berries, flowers and roots that will be composed and brewed into a flavorful tea in front of your eyes, with sounds of water empowered by fire, with an aftertaste of blossoming meadows, with a smell of something so sweet and earthy, that the experience will change your state of mind for the night, and possibly forever, as it has done to me.

The experience that I refer to as Five Senses of Tea will include handling of traditional tea instruments, smelling and tasting teas and herbs as they get mixed and then brewed, opening up tea and herbs for you to see what it means to properly harvest, ferment and store all the teas. You will be taught how to tell apart a herbal tea and full leaf traditional teas.

You are also invited to bring a musical instrument, so that we can enjoy the rhythm of that special night, authored by all of us.

The event will include Qi Gong and breathing exercises that will help you relax (or perhaps focus) and have a wonderful, wholesome experience. There will also be time for Q&A, so please bring your questions and teas that you don't know how to brew and I guarantee that you will walk out with knowledge that will benefit your life and lives of those close to you.

Things to know.
I. It's super important that you wear comfortable clothing, as we will be sitting on the floor. And you may want to bring your favorite sitting/meditation pillow.
II. I ask that you use your phone as a camera and sound recorder only.
III. Bring any musical instruments you wish. As we will be composers of our music, creating our own vibe.
IV. The event will be split into 2 parts. On The break, there will be snacks and all sorts of food. Please bring something to share with rest of participants.

Facilitator: Ekaterina Natocheva

Cost: Donations $30 - $40

Sex Magic and Mental Foreplay

Friday, December 7, 2018, at 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM

The Nexus Center
1436 Howard St #201
San Francisco, CA

Our biggest, most complex and often least utilized sexual organ is the brain.

Whether in a first meeting or in an ongoing relationship, often both sexes are lacking the valuable skills of Mental Foreplay

Most people consider themselves pretty skilled at playing with their lover's body, but have little or no idea how to stimulate the brain and the imagination... unleash its influence over the emotions and the body... tickle the right fantasy spots... create longings that keep the partner hot and fantasizing about you for days or weeks... if you are around or even if you are away...

Without them, initially, hot connections quickly disintegrate or lead to routine sex and stale marriages.

But, what if there was a fun and easy way to create the experience of ongoing foreplay with your lover or your date?

If you knew the kinds of things to say to them to make them long for you... the kinds of tasks and challenges to give them that inspire them to bring their sexiest sides to you.... and get extra creative about it:)

And if it were possible to do this at (almost) any time of day no matter where you are?

Imagine teasing the mind and emotions of your date or your partner until they are so hot for you, they'll literally rip your clothes off the minute they get in the door! (unless you have given them special instructions that they can only do that if they strip for you first for example:)

With Mental Foreplay, all this is possible... and more.
Singles and couples are welcome!
