Beginning Opening Your Relationship: 1001 Baby Steps

Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM (PDT)
SunnySide Up
1028 63rd St
Oakland, CA 94608

Whatever you call it (or do not call it), it falls outside of the parameters of one-on-one romantic/sexual partnership. Maybe you watched "Polyamory: Married and Dating". Maybe you have dreamed about it ever since you had two boyfriends when you were six years old. Maybe you look at the statistics on cheating and do not want to be a part of them, or you know you are just not up for being with one person (or sex/gender) for the rest of your life. Or, perhaps you already tried it and want to know how to heal the whiplash of a challenging experience and get back in the driver’s seat.

Please join us -- Paget and Philippe -- on May 5 as we guide you through the many baby steps towards opening your relationship so you can do it gracefully and safely. We have been together for over 10 years, and started off open. As we crashed, burned, and floundered through the first 8 years of opening our relationship, we learned a LOT. Our philosophy is: Learn from OUR mistakes, so you do not have to make them yourself.

What we will cover:
* What is open/poly/non-mono you?
* Why is it for you? What is in it for you?
* What fantasies do you have about this lifestyle?
* What peak sexual/emotional experiences have you had around this lifestyle?
* Do you want to do it together as a unit (with other close lover(s)) or separately?
* Do you want to date friends or strangers?
* Do you want to do it as long term or short term relationships? Or friends with benefits? Or one night stands?
* How much can you and do you want to share with your other lovers?
* In what ways do you want to connect lovers? (flirty, sensual, sexual (no fluids), sexual (fluids), etc.)
* Where are you now and where do you want to be?
* What are the baby steps that will get you closer?

How the evening will go:
A 2-3h experiential connected conversational workshop followed by an optional 1-2h period of practice/play/conversation with others in the class.

Cost: Cost: $50/couple, $30/single

Nourishing Pleasure

Friday, May 8, 2015 @ 7:30-10pm

Rudramandir
830 Bancroft Way, Berkeley, CA 94710
Ghazal Room

Giving or receiving pleasure is not just about skills. It is actually a state of body and mind.

Nourishing Pleasure is about tapping into yourself and letting your body be the guide of what you want, while being attuned to your partner. It is about feeling open and fully enjoying the attention and pleasure you are receiving.

Often times, you might feel selfish if you take up too much time or space. An unconscious concern may come up, “I should be pleasing my partner too”, and without realizing it, you cut short the connection to your Self. Thus, diminishing the potential of great pleasure, intimacy, and sexual connection.

In the Nourishing Pleasure workshop, Dalia and Shachar will guide you through experiential exercises that help you connect to your needs, impulses, and desire; practice taking up space; and overcome shame. Resulting in a connection to your empowered sexual self.

From this embodied place of sexual expression, you inspire and arouse your partner, welcoming them to do the same. Co-creating a beautiful self-empowering cycle of nourishing pleasure.

Silent Meditation Retreat

May 14-17, 2015 (Thursday – Sunday)
Pleasant Valley Sanctuary, North San Juan, California (Northern California)

Yoga masters describe God as ever-existing bliss consciousness. Silence is the altar upon which we develop our communion with that Bliss. Keeping silence is an acknowledgement that nothing that we think or express can adequately express the Truth. Silence helps us to see ourselves more clearly, to see the course of our thoughts and the currents of our hearts. Together with the techniques of Raja yoga, we have a powerful opportunity to use the energy of our bodies, our breath, our will and our concentration to work our way back to our True Nature.

Silent retreat attendees will receive basic instruction in meditation to explore throughout the retreat, as well as access to structured group meditations, which are encouraged but not mandatory. Yoga postures are led each morning.

Monterey, California

California Roots is not just a music festival; it is a movement. It is a way of life. It delivers a cosmic blend of good vibes, true happiness, family, peace, love and joy to all who enter. When Jimi Hendrix torched his guitar at the Monterey Pop Festival in the late ‘60’s, he changed the way an entire generation looked not only at music festivals, but life itself.

It is out of this same pure energy--the energy of natural and peaceful rebellion--that California Roots was born. We discovered the ecstasy that culminates from listening to awesome music, smiling at your neighbors and dancing with strangers; California Roots is about living life to the fullest.

Living without Enemies

Saturday, May 30, 2015 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

Insight Santa Cruz
1010 Fair Avenue, Suite C, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

The Buddha said, “The world may quarrel with me, but I do not quarrel with the world.” How can we live our lives without causing conflict—without making anyone into an enemy? This daylong program will blend sitting and walking meditations with teachings and reflection to discover how unpleasant experiences might lead an untrained mind toward anger, blame, prejudice, and hatred. We will consider how anger can develop into violence and learn ways to transform this tendency so that we meet pain, and even abuse, with a balanced, kind, and wise attention. Meditative insights can change our lives—they can free the mind from the underlying tendency to hate.
