Crissy Field (near Warming Hut)
983 Marine Dr.,
San Francisco, CA
Watch and join in the amazing gravity-defying art of rock
balancing near the Golden Gate Bridge.
Dozens of artists worldwide are part of a global balanced
rock sculpture movement, and two of them have invited you to learn the practice
of creating these serene, temporary sculptures from rocks at Crissy Field.
Rock stacking is “an art form, a working meditation
practice, a tangible connection to earth, an avenue for self-discovery and
personal growth, a playful exploration of the force of gravity and other laws
of physics, a paradigm for solo and group empowerment, a form in which to
practice equanimity during collapse and rebuilding, and a joyful and moving way
to connect with others and with the environment.” – Zach Pine, artist and instructor
