Vocal Freedom :: Songs of the Soul Workshop with Sonja Drakulich

Sunday, December 2, 2018, at 6 PM – 9 PM

The Center SF
548 Fillmore St,
San Francisco, California

In this workshop we will experience the expanding and refining of our voices through the most liberating vocal techniques and exercises I have found throughout the Eastern and Western world. The foundation of these techniques lie in the creation of pure, natural tone and in the unveiling of our authentic voice. Our body is our instrument, therefore alignment practices will be included that create an open, clear channel for our voice and purest expression. We will practice strengthening and coordinating the breath to create a strong foundation for our tone.

Vocal improvisation can be the most artful and rewarding form of expression for both the singer and listener. A supportive space, skills and guidance are provided while navigating and letting go of inhibitions.

We will learn techniques of awareness in order to excel in our ability to focus, and allowing ourselves to open to creative inspiration, release blockages, fears, insecurities, doubts, worries and tensions, while experiencing our true voice, our new potentials and new freedom of expression.

Not only is music is perhaps the most powerful tool for emotional haling, it is also an optimal way we can re-wire neuro- pathways for healthy brain / body function. Through the modalities offered in these sessions, we can utilize emotion to transform our emotional landscapes into healing, joy and beauty. Singing is the most powerful tool in the realm of music which transforms ourselves in this process. By cultivating specific overtones and learning seed syllables and mantras that correlate with the physical and energetic centers of our body, we can easily reconnect with our capacity to heal oneself through sound, emotionally, mentally and physically.

The beautiful songs of the Balkans and the Near East, along with many other ancestral lineages, with their powerful and delicate vocal ornamentation are offered in these workshops. As creative beings, we have the ability through art, to not only to transform our own blockages, but the unsung grief of our ancestors, allowing this energy to be liberated into it’s essential quality of beauty.

Our bloodlines are the unseen rivers that when followed, will ultimately lead us to the ocean- the source. In our learning of these old songs as an unfolding channel, we can experience the unity within the seemingly disparate lineages and cultures, and in turn, the unity within ourselves. The creative process of art, and specifically song, has the power to transform unlike anything else in this world. We only need to show up for this process and learn to open, while increasing our own consciousness. All of the songs and practices will be given in the context of expanding the singer’s range, breath support, vocal colors and textures. Here we discover our unlimited capacity of creative expression, healing, and joy.

Cost: $30 - $50

How to Love Workshop

Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM PST

The Nexus Center
1436 Howard Street
#201
San Francisco, CA

Many of us are overwhelmed dealing with everything we need to handle in our daily lives that we lose the most basic principal of the way of living, LOVE.

I've attended dozens of workshops and classes to heal myself and have learned so much. One thing I have learned boils down to this statement: "TO LOVE and BE LOVED."

So I am here to share my experiences with you on How to Love. This may well be the most satisfying workshop you've ever taken.

Based on my healing experiences, we cannot truly love when unprocessed emotions are stuck in our bodies. This is a forceful way of taking something out of it when it is not ready to be expressed.

We will dive into those stuck places and express the unprocessed emotions out of our body. We will release them, physically, emotionally, and energetically in a trusted and safe environment. Then we will add new programs to connect you with your divine true self and best version of you, and embody them through play, movement, breathwork, sound healing, and body language.

You will guided to do this with playfulness, gentleness and light-heartedness - alone, with partners, and collectively together.

Come join us. Escape the ordinary and play extraordinary!

Part 1: Vitality 101:Activate Your Vital Code
Your body is a treasure. Tap into the mystery of the body through alchemy of breath, movement, and sound in a trusted environment. Give yourself full permission to express your desire within. Experience diversified ancient wisdom with Western modalities to activate the floodgate of vitality and live an orgasmic passionate life 24/7. Why Not?!

Part 2: Intimacy 101: Disconnection to Embodyment
Everyone wants connections, yet this seems the hardest thing.
Into-Me-See. We cultivate the mysteries of the subconscious world, retrieve, and restore soul-to-soul connection. A blend of imaginative, multi-level collective consciousness will guide us to an endless playground of self-expression and human potential through body language, primal sound and movement - alone and together - spontaneously.

Part 3: Duality 101: Exploring Spectrum of Duality (Masculine Vs. Feminine)
Sexuality is Life-Force Energy! Reboot your mind and release outdated systems of domesticated gender roles to reclaim who you really are... Empower your sexuality by releasing physical and emotional blocks through guided movement, sound, play, and breathwork to express emotions without judgement in our trusted circle, then we meet halfway. Totality - the sacred space to create ritual for unity and harmony, beyond separation and rewrite the story of us as a whole.

You would experience:
·         Cacao ceremony for heart opening
·         Easy 3 step Quantum Breathwork and Meditation
·         Pelvis-Heart Integration movement
·         Cutting energetic cord to release past toxic relationships
·         Express your emotions, release stuck energy and old negative patterns
·         Shamanic Sound Healing
·         Embodied intimacy exercise (non-sexual)
·         How to turn on and off your duality of femininity and masculinity
·         Activating senses to elevate Intuition and manifest

Cost: $77

Oakland, California

Coming together on the eve of Hanukah, a lineup of three great klezmer and Romanian projects will perform individual sets and collaborations for a not-to-be-missed concert featuring master musicians touring from New York City and Montreal.

Orchestra Euphonos is a Bay Area-based Eastern European folk and klezmer band. Their uplifting sound is characterized by a brass and woodwind melodic front line. Orchestra Euphonos performs songs and melodies from Romania and Moldova. Their performances are joyous occasions filled with wild takes on old favorites, group improvisations and more than a few opportunities to dance.

Peter Bonos (trumpet), Balder Ten Cate (cimbalom), Zina Pozen (accordion), Matthew Stein (Violin), Asaf Ophir (clarinet) Travis Hendrix (bass), & Ivan Velev (percussion)

Sergiu Popa - Accordion

Sergiu was born in 1981, in Chisinau, Moldova. He had completed his studies at Stefan Neaga music college as well as two years of studies at the Conservatory of Moldova before emigrating to Canada in 2002. Since a young age, he also simultaneously studied traditional folk and Roma (Gypsy) styles with his father, Ion Popa, himself a well-recognized Gypsy accordionist in Moldova. Over many years of playing alongside his father at weddings, he became familiar with Jewish, Turkish, Russian, Serbian and Bulgarian styles as well. Despite his young age, he is quickly establishing a reputation as one of most brilliant accordionists in Canada today. He has co-founded the Sergiu Popa Ensemble with his wife (violinist Jessica Gal), a group which was discovered by Musique Multi-Montréal, a reputable world music agency, in 2006. Since then, they have performed at numerous festivals and concert series in Quebec, and were selected to receive the 2007 Radio-Canada Étoiles Galaxie award.

Jake Shulman-Ment - violin, vocals, accordion, guitar
Eleonore Weill - vocals, flutes, accordion, hurdy gurdy

Internationally acclaimed musicians from New York and France, Jake Shulman-Ment and Eleonore Weill share an exceptionally expressive and intimate understanding of klezmer and Yiddish folk song. In this program, they perform old songs of political and social resistance, wandering, and love, instrumental dances and improvisations, and spiritual melodies. Combining music they have played since childhood with material they have collected along their many roads through Europe and North America, as well as original compositions, they explore the boundaries of Yiddish music with creative repertoire, instrumentation, and interpretation. The concert will also include participatory dancing.

Connecting in Love Workshop

November 30 – December 2, 2018 (Friday – Sunday)

NorCal - Wildwood
20111 Old Cazadero Rd
Guerneville, CA

Everyone starts with Connecting in Love, an immersive weekend workshop that is designed for you, exactly as you are now. In this workshop you will have profound opportunities for deeply connecting with yourself and others. We gently invite you to let go of the layers of defense that have kept you safe in the past,  but now may just be keeping you separate.

The workshop is designed to be a safe place for you to explore your inner world, as well as your connections with others. Our focus on Love, Intimacy and Sexuality provides fertile ground for self discovery, and true intimacy with others in a non-sexual context.

For some who come to their first HAI workshop, they may not be able to identify anything specifically wrong with their lives, but just that something’s missing. You come to your first workshop full of who you have always been, and for most of us there is a sense that “there must be something more than this.” There must be a deeper, richer something—but it is elusive. We catch glimpses, whiffs and moments. We bring with us our hopes, our pain, even our undoing, and our very real sense of knowing underneath we feel there is something more.

We come and we listen and then we begin to share, answering questions we have perhaps not spoken out loud into a truly listening ear. We begin to listen to others in a way that makes little inroads into our own possibilities—something inside has a new, stronger voice—sometimes it cries, sometimes it laughs and sometimes it comes with a shiny new idea about how we might live. Perhaps it is true that there is a miracle inside the decision to love and we begin to follow a thread, a rope, a path, and then a road.

Along this road we find others that have sought something more. We begin to explore that elusive longing and find ourselves in the embrace of other like-minded humans. Then, we grow in the warmth of a community coming together to be the loving human family we all long for.

In your Connecting in Love workshop, we invite you to be both empowered, and naked. Naked in both your body, and your emotions. What if there were truly nothing in the way? See more on why we invite you to be naked.

The openings are some extravagant mix of inner looking and soft landing places. We begin to breathe deeper and our hearts quiver on the edge of true tenderness and understanding. At first it feels just vaguely familiar and then this openness begins to feel like where we truly want to live.

You will have the opportunity to:
·         Discover you are beautiful and lovable, just as you are.
·         Let go of fear and shame that can block love and intimacy
·         Practice speaking and listening from your heart
·         Accept and love your body, as it is today
·         Change habits and patterns that no longer serve you
·         Feel the support of loving community
·         Take risks, have fun, change your life

Sensual Wonderland with Multi-handed Massage

Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 7:30 PM – 11:00 PM PST

San Jose, CA

Join Cathy Vartuli, Jet Noir, Monique Darling, and Peter Petersen for an evening of healing playful movement, and intimate sacred touch.

First Peter brings his love of a moving meditation from China called Qigong.

For thousands of years people have captured the essence of these simple movements to maintain balance and to heal themselves mentally and physically. Qigong accelerates healing and has a positive clinically recognized effect on almost all physical symptoms. Qigong helps heal the physical body and release stress of the mind. By moving your body, releasing trigger points, and stimulating your circulatory system, you literally become your own massage therapist. Simultaneously these movements help release negative emotions and memories that you no longer need and allow yourself to be much more present in your "now" so in a sense you become your own psychiatrist at the same time! Come learn how to build the foundation of being your own health advocate and enjoy emotional freedom and connection to all that is!

After we are all grounded into our bodies and into the present moment, we will empower your sensual conscious touch by educating a tactile language of stimulating arousal, that opens a doorway to the deepest part of our soul.

Then we will take a journey using the most intimate form of touch, our breath. Introducing an ancient ritual where you will explore each-others bodies, magnifying your connection physically, energetically, and spiritually. Then we will align your chakras through touch, breath, connection, and shared intent.

Drop even deeper into your embodied bliss state as you learn to touch for YOUR pleasure, as you get to practice asking for the specific types of touch your body is craving/imagining at any moment.

Finally we will lead you through some simple massage techniques for neck, hands and feet where we will lead a multi-handed massage session where we throw in some of our own unique “black belt” tools that will leave your partner breathless and lusting for more.

Dive deep into your authenticity. Extend your awareness and your ability to listen to your body. We will be leading everyone on a journey of sound, and touch. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have 12 hands needing, massaging, caressing, all over your body after your heart has been blown wide open by dance, touch, connection, and music?

Two or more people at a time, will receive multiple hand massage's then while those two are recovering from their bliss coma, another two will take their places in the middle. Until all participants have been pampered. (the last minute on the table, you will be surrounded as ancient sanskrit tones will be sung into your body, bathing you in sound expansion and celebration)

Bring sexy finger foods, your favorite lotion, even your own sheets and towel, and prepare to be pampered like you never have before.

During the massage, the one who is receiving can decide how they feel most comfortable, fully clothed, swimsuit, sarong, or nudity is welcome.

Bring a partner or come solo and be paired up with a practice partner for the night so you can take these skills home and wow your lover!
Bring a cushion, water bottle, and a curious, open mind.
Wear comfy clothes that you can move around in.

Cost: $35 per person and $60 per pair

Sacred Kink Immersion

Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM PST

Iron Giant Loft
1080 23rd Ave
Oakland, CA

This event weaves together Tantra and kink in a safe, structured environment. It begins as a guided experiential workshop incorporating sensuality, kink, mindfulness, and ritual, and transitions into a facilitated play party.

This space welcomes all genders and orientations and is consent-focused. You always have the ability to set limits and negotiate the touch you give/receive. This event welcomes both new explorers and current practitioners.

Experience exquisite surrender... the thrum of power and energy coursing through you as you take someone (or are taken!) right up to the edge... the dance of pleasure and sensation, dominance and submission, primal passion and divine union.

Nudity, sensual, and sexual touch are optional at this event—but if you'd like to play in that playground, you can explore those options with one or more partners. (All touch is negotiated between participants.)

All experience levels welcome. While some familiarity is beneficial, if you are new to sacred sexuality practices, kink, or both, this event can be a supportive introduction.

Come ready to explore breathwork, waking up the energetic body through the meridians and directed chakra touch, "painting" with different types of sensation, primal play exercises, using impact play and other rhythmic, intense forms of stimulation to achieve trance states, energetic sex, tying up/restraints, erotic ritual body worship, sensory deprivation, and other forms of sensation and power play.

We’ll demonstrate how BDSM can help you create powerful, connective experiences of sacred sexuality, and how Tantric principles and practices can take your kinky encounters to new heights.

WHAT TO EXPECT

We'll begin with powerful boundary-setting practices to create a safe container of conscious communication and sacred intent, so that you can truly surrender to your inner sense of play, reverence, and wonder. Then, you will go on a journey of power and sensuality, through the heart of connection culminating in a state of ecstatic bliss.

Alex and Liam will be leading you through paired and triad exercises such as erotic feeding, sensation play, touching for YOUR pleasure, sound bath, tease and denial… and so much more. Learn how empowering it can be to really ask (or beg!) for exactly the touch you would like. Experience the powerful, sacred gift of surrender—and of holding another’s complete trust.

Fixed binaries are purely optional in this fluid space; you'll have the opportunity to explore many roles and configurations throughout the event. You can stay with the same partner(s) or mingle as you like.
This event is open to all genders and orientations. If you prefer to be touched only by partners of a specific gender, you can bring a partner of that gender with you and stay with them for any or all of the exercises.

Facilitators: Alex S. Morgan and Liam Marcus

Cost: $35 / single; $60 / couple
