New Guinea Sculpture Gardens
Stanford University
Palo Alto, CA
We've been at this location many times before, and
everyone seems to like it. It's in an obscure area of the Stanford Campus and
is not really a garden at all, but more like a small rectangular forested area,
bounded on four sides by campus streets. The sculptures, done by artists from
New Guinea, are scattered around and are somewhat interesting. Two of the
sculptures, made of wood, are hollow and are a type of log drum that we can
actually use.
Street parking used to be available, but now we have to
find parking in the nearby parking lots. Bring a chair or something to sit on.
Restrooms are a short walk away. Please remember that this area is private property.
Dogs are not allowed.
