Have you ever thought about how we love? Have you ever been faced with someone you thought loved you but it isn’t feeling like that anymore? Being there for those we care for is ever important but somedays it feels like we are speaking different languages and maybe coming from different planets also.

You are not wrong on any account. Come with me to discover your Love Language and how to speak to others in theirs. With the help and guidance of Gary Chapman’s book “The Five Love Languages, The Secrets to Love that Lasts” we will discover which one is yours and hopefully bring understanding of other languages throughout the world of people.

Here is a small example of a Love Language in action: Dead Seas and Babbling Brooks – “Not all of us are out of touch with our emotions, but when it comes to talking, all of us are affected by our personality. I have observed two basic personality types. The first I call the “Dead Sea”. In the little nation of Israel, the Dead Sea of Galilee flows south by way of the Jordan River into the Dead Sea. It goes nowhere. It receives but it does not give. This personality type receives many experiences, emotions, and thoughts throughout the day. They have a large reservoir where they store that information, and are perfectly happy not to talk. If you say “What’s wrong? Why aren’t you talking tonight?” they will probably say, “Nothing’s wrong. What makes you think something’s wrong?” And that response is perfectly honest. They are content not to talk.”

Can Love Languages be changed? I’d like to think so but if you first don’t know what yours is and those around you, how can understanding and, yes, Love be shared? How’s that saying go: First you have to know there is a problem? Join me in discovering all our amazing ways to show love for others.
