Some of the most interesting and accessible work in the consciousness hacking arena today involves the use of EEG biofeedback to support meditation practice. By measuring and observing our brain as it moves through different states of consciousness, we can more easily practice shifting between different states and cultivate the more positive ones.

Recent research in the neuroscience of psychedelic medicine has discovered how specific areas of the brain are affected in these altered states, much of which correlates with the research done around meditation. Through this work, we are making significant strides in understanding how the human brain works, and the tools and practices we can use to help heal and positively transform our minds.

Dr. Jeff Tarrant is the founder of the NeuroMeditation Institute, an organization dedicated to furthering education, research, and service based on the practice of meditation from a scientific perspective. He has researched how various meditation approached are associated with specific brain regions, brainwave patterns, and states of consciousness. In this presentation he will discuss his work in this area, and specifically how using neurofeedback can mimic the brainwave patterns observed in psychedelic states.
