Come be part of the discovery of what is so unique about
the Duncan style of moving. It is rare to have access to such a great teacher
who lives here in the Bay Area. No previous dance experience required!
The first hour will be an introduction to the philosophy
and nuisance of the Duncan technique.
Lois wants us to have a better understanding of how Duncan Classic
Natural Dance differs from any other style of movement/dance. She wants us to
explore the details of the style.
In the last 2 hours in the session will be learning two
pieces of original dances choreographed by Isadora Duncan. We will be learning
a dance called the "Dubinushka" which was choreographed during Isadora's Russia
period after World War I. It is a group
piece about the working class struggle.
She may give us a taste of a phrase from the March Slav. Learn how and
why Is Duncan Dance is still taught today, and what Keeps Duncan Dance
choreography moving one century later.
Lois will provide a colorful tunic for you. Or you can
wear your own loosely draped clothing.
Cost: $40
