One of the most challenging parts of making the most of
this life is facing the end of it. Whether contemplating our own demise,
grieving the loss of a loved one or trying to help someone else come to grips
with the reality of mortality, we secularists often struggle to think and talk
about death in ways that are comforting and constructive. In contrast to our
still-believing brethren, many secular communities don’t yet have the
understanding, language and rituals we need to practically support each other
in making sense of life’s most intimidating ultimate question. Join Bart
Campolo, the humanist chaplain at the University of Southern California, for a
hopeful, truly provocative conversation.
