Join the team for a special evening of word and sound in
Montalvo’s Italianate Garden. Artist Taraneh Hemami will continue her ongoing
activation of her sound sculpture One Voice (Yek Seda) created for the
Montalvo’s outdoor exhibition Now Hear
This! with special guests: acclaimed Iranian American composer Sahba
Aminikia, Iranian born vocalist/performer Dina Zarif, and Bay Area composer/harpist
Amelia Romano. Lucas Artists Fellows Rwandan-born/Belgium-based vocalist and
composer Aurelie Lierman and New York-based playwright Alva Rogers will also
share their work with live performances in the Garden.
After, artist Taro Hattori leads a wrap-up presentation
and performance celebrating his 14-month community conversation project Rolling
Counterpoint. Involving multiple partners throughout the Bay Area, and
envisioned as a platform for conversation and question-making about experiences
of division and belonging in contemporary society.
