Fire has been used in ceremonial practice since the
creation stories of many cultures and traditions. With time and patience, you
can rekindle the fire that has belonged to you since you came into this world,
once again surrounding you in the aromatic smoke of the cosmos. Developing
a relationship with the sacred fire begins with building foundations of trust,
honor and respect.
Learn how to properly light & use the Tlemaitl (hand-fire)
in ceremony to burn your copal for purification and inviting your ancestors.
All day workshop led by Grandmother Chicahuaxochitl
indigenous Elder from Jalisco Mexico.
We will form this powerful tool out of clay which acts a
womb to hold the burning coals that will transform the herbs and resins used
into offerings for our guides, holy ones and the deities of our personal path. Everyone
who participates will receive their own Tlemaitl and copal.
Temazcal ceremony included. Temazcal ceremony is a sweat
lodge and traditionally performed by a shaman who gives you a heated massage
using scented herbs. It can be used to heal certain ailments and improve
health.
