Among the most promising and dynamic musical duos of
their generation, cellist Georgy Gusev and pianist Ivan Moshchuk present an
unstoppable force in the world of classical music. True models of complete 21st
century musicians, both Gusev and Moshchuk draw on an exceptional cultural
heritage.
FEATURING:
Georgy Gusev - cello
Ivan Moshchuk - piano
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Veterans of countless international tours and heirs to
the musical traditions of the Moscow Conservatory, Peabody Institute, and
Accademia Nazionale Santa Cecilia in Rome, Georgy Gusev and Ivan Moshchuk
belong to a select group of creatives who are not afraid to cross boundaries
and reach far and between to write the next chapter for classical music. Both
have founded their own festivals and nonprofit organizations, as well as
continue to appear on iconic stages such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam,
Carnegie Hall in New York, and Suntory Hall in Tokyo. In the words of Mstislav
Rostropovich and Bruno Monsaingeon, “Mr. Gusev is a rare example of a musician
who manages to connect knowledge and respect for musical tradition with his own
creativity and gorgeous talent… Mr. Moshchuk has a tremendous philosophical
view of music, a wonderful education and upbringing where he can reflect on
these things. This is why I am so happy to make music with him."
