We have been three times to this location and on the
third time, finally got to see the moon rise in the southeast.
Normally they collect $6 for parking but NOT after 3pm.
Park rules prohibit dogs. Restrooms are nearby.
Enter the main gate, turn right at the T, go to the end
of the parking lot. Park in the last set of stalls and walk towards the grassy
area past the picnic area. Check the map link above for the exact location.
It's a big park but you should be able to find us if you follow these
instructions. There are two benches that we can use (seating for about 8) but
we need people to bring chairs.
Sunset at 8:26pm. Moonrise at 8:14 pm (or a little later
due to the hills) at a bearing of 111 degrees. The park closes a half hour
after sunset, but people commonly stay longer.
Our normal routine of open drumming jams with some light
facilitation will be followed. Extra drums and percussion instruments will be
available for sharing.
