The Passion of Tango by Richard Young
Are you inspired to learn Tango?
Have you ever taken a pre-dance class, then felt too
intimidated to actually dance?
Come get your Tango feet wet and get moving around the
dance floor in one afternoon. This
workshop is going to cover the basic elements of Tango and get you moving
around the floor with style.
1 - 1:15 Check in and warm up...
Tango Jump Start 101: Basic Blocks
For complete beginners and those wanting to perfect their
walking, ochos, molinetes and other Tango basics. We will break down connection and movement
into simple, easily accessible building blocks.
Though we will be working basic movement the technique will be valuable
to all levels.
Tango Jump Start 102: Building Blocks Galore
This is your jump start! In this section we will continue
adding building blocks to your Tango repertoire: walking to the cross, ocho
cortado, baridas (sweeps), rythmic variations and more. Less about dancing and more about learning
moves we are going to pack as many blocks into this class as we can!
Tango Jump Start 103: Integration and Dancing Tango
Get your final building blocks and dance! We will learn a couple fun new moves, review
and then put it all together. This class
will solidify what you have learned and give you tools to move around the dance
floor with confidence.
