Have you ever seen people making music together, you
wanted to join in but felt you couldn't because you were never
"trained" in making music with others? Well this workshop will dispel
the myth that only trained musicians can make awesome music!
Mary is masterful music and rhythm facilitator and she is
also offering a mini-playshop to give people the experience of learning how to
make music together (hint: it has a lot to do with listening). The playshop
stands alone, however if you like what you experience and want to continue with
the two-day training, that's an option. Whether you want to attend just the 2.5
hour mini-playshop or go through the whole facilitator training, this is your
opportunity to listen, play, learn and laugh. The music teacher at Main Street
Elementary opens up her classroom to us to use all of the different instruments
- ukuleles, xylophones, drums, etc., and people bring whatever instruments they
might want to play or experiment with, i.e., violins, French horns, flutes, but
you will also get to play with body rhythm, simple vocal call and response and
anything else fun that Mary dreams up (she is endlessly creative!)
Facilitator: Mary Knysh
