Finnish Kaleva Hall
1970 Chestnut St,
Berkeley, California 94702
It is time for the last East Bay Waltz of the year (we
take December off as the hall is in use). That means we are going out with a
blast. We have some of our amazing new talent from the past year showing off
their stuff and of course all of you, our favorite dancers, hopefully joining
us for an evening of friends, fun and fabulous dancing.
From 7-9, Alan and Lianna will teach Rotary Waltz, our
go-to classic turning waltz. This "beginner lesson" is great for
anyone who does not yet feel confident in 3/4, even if you have taken a lesson
before.
Upstairs from 7-9 Stefan will teach waltz syncopation
steps for dancers already comfortable with waltz. Ever wanted to spice up your
waltz or wondered what would happen if you did that foot fudge on purpose?
Discover a whole new world of waltz variations that come from playing with the
rules of 3/4.
From 9-midnight, DJ Alina will spin a plethora of her
favorite tunes to dance waltz, polka, swing, blues and all of your other
favorite dance forms.
As always, EBW is a come-as-you-are, all ages,
no-partner-required dance. We will have exciting snacks, and your potluck
contributions will be gladly accepted.
Cost: $12 admission for lessons and dance; $8 for dance
only. Special student rate of $8 for lesson and dance.
